Wachowskis' next film - SPEED RACER!

Post by EvaUnit02 »

Hehe, GO SPEED RACER GO. I hope that they don't gay up the Mach 5. Fingers-crossed for Racer-X to appear, the mysterious masked ace driver who is really Speed's older brother who was believed to have died in a racing accident years prior or something.

I'm not expecting much from this, considering how much cock Matrix Reshitted and Revolting smoked.

Producer Joel Silver has stated that the long talked about Speed Racer movie has been given the green light and is expected to be released theatrically in summer, 2008.
Brothers Larry Wachowski and Andy Wachowski, creators and directors of the Matrix, have written the script and will direct the movie, with filming expected to take place in the summer of 2007. They will again work with special effects supervisor John Gaeta, who won an Oscar for his work on the Matrix. Speed Racer will be the first Wachowski directed movie since the Matrix trilogy, although they produced V for Vendetta.
Silver, who also worked with the Wachowskis on the Matrix, states that Speed Racer will be geared towards all audiences, "They wanted to do something that could appeal to everybody." According to Silver the Wachowski brothers were hesitant to take on the Speed Racer project, which he pitched to them, and they wouldn't agree to come on board until they could figure out a way to bring something original to the movie. "They are approaching these racing scenes in a way you've never seen before," states Silver.
Previously Vince Vaughn wanted to make the movie and star as Racer X, in June it was reported that Vaughn was still on board to star as Racer X in the Wachowski directed movie.

Trailer links fixed. What I thought was the trailer turned out to be a Featurette.

It looks visually fantastic but otherwise as Yi says it looks hideous.

1.5/5
A stupid children's film. I liked the 60's influenced production and wardrobe design, but that was about it. The CGI was absolutely dreadful.

Thankfully I didn't pay for it, I won a double pass.

It is the worse film I have seen this year, a total piece of shit from beginning to end.

The kind of film that made me want to walk out of the cinema for once, and that rarley happens.

The action scenes were boring too. I literally almost fell asleep during the finale.

I wanted to beat the obnoxious child actor and chimpanzee to death.

The battle with the ninjas was bloody random.

Hell the entire film was random, as if they made it up as they went along.

It looked like they made the Matrix sequels up as they went along.

If you think the Matrix films were like that, Speed Racer is beyond words. Insane if its for kids as it is as confusing as hell for may adults, never mind 3 years olds who it is aimed at badly.

I thought Pirates of the Caribbean 3 was confusing as hell too, I didn't have a clue what was going on despite the fact I'd seen the previous two. So I guess it doesn't really matter if it's for kids or not nowadays haha, they just make shite confusing films!

I was not confused by Pirates, but Speed Racer does about 4 timelines all at once for the first 40 minutes and CGI's between them, no kid ever could get what was going on :D

I am just glad it failed at the box office, as frankly its a waste of time and cash.
