A French MP has said he is outraged that the song chosen to represent the nation in the Eurovision song contest has English lyrics.
Sebastien Tellier's entry, entitled Divine, combines both English and French lyrics with electro music. "To explain the vision of French people of sexuality and of life and so, to be understood, I need to sing in English," he said.
Last year's entry from Cyprus, an official added, was sung in French.
I thought it was going to be sung entirely in English.
The French MP should be pleased, it's not sung by an Englishmen too .
The funny thing is, the singer mumbles so much in the song he could be singing Swahli for all you can actually tell .
Well... If you want to represent France, you should sing in french IMO.
Not that I care. Eurovision is shit, anyway.
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".
I hear it is in French, just not all of it. I think all countries should sing in their native tongue but in most cases that will statistically mean they've got less chance of winning.
I wish we'd do what the Italians did and drop out.
