"The fourth series, starring Tennant, is due to hit TV screens next year, but the fifth will not be seen until 2010. Instead, Tennant, will star in three Doctor Who specials, written by Russell T Davies, on BBC One in 2009."
I don't get why even needs to be American other than making Torchwood all "international" - Welsh, English, American, Japanese. Have I missed anyone? Probably.
Torchwood is returning early next year. I guess it will finish when Dr. Who starts.
His accent is nowhere near as bad as Statham's American accent, which clearly they realised as it's mostly gone from Transporter 2.
It's bollocks. Great article though that contradict itself:
Doctor Who star David Tennant has laughed off speculation that he is planning to quit the show at the end the next series in 2008.
Tennant confirmed he was doing four Doctor Who specials in 2009, but there was no decision about the next series in 2010.
Also:
He said Kylie Minogue was keen to do more acting again.
"She did this because I think that's the way her thoughts are heading. She's missed it and fancied that discipline. I'd cast her again like that," he said.
Asked by a child in the audience whether evil Dalek creator Davros would be resurrected for the new series, Davies said: "I don't know. I'm as in the dark as you are. Would you like us to?"
Amid much laughter, he stroked his chin and added: "I'll see what I can do."
Please do not ask what to do with this link guys as that info will be removed.
I'm watching it tonight. I didn't get around to it last night. It looks better than last years Xmas special, not hard with Catherine Bloody Tate in it.
EDIT: I've just watched this. It was good fun. I liked it. If they had to have a celebrity to join the Doctor I wish they'd asked Kylie over Catherine Bloody Tate.
A sneak peak for Series 4: For those who haven't seen it there was a sneak peak after the Xmas special. One of the big monsters looks to be a return of the creatures from Series 2 "Impossible Planet" and "Satan Pit". That creature with tentscles coming out of it's mouth and which carried a glowing orb.
On the downside the trailer was 90 seconds and every time Catherine Bloody Tate appeared by blood boiled. I was hoping she'd act normally but no she's playing her usual annoying persona from the Catherine Tate show
According to IMDB the second episodes of Series 4 will feature "The Sontaran's" who were rumoured to be in Series 3 but didnt' make it. I love it when they bring back the Classic monsters:
It's cool they're also planning a Series 5 in 2010.
I'm currently working out which Patrick Troughton DVD I should pick up. He's the only one of the first 5 Doctors I don't have on DVD, the last 5 don't really interest me enough to own (which includes the New Series).
Of the Classic Series people always say the best Doctors were Number 3 (Jon Pertwee) and Number 4 (Tom Baker).
I thought you'd agree, it's bizarre many people seem to prefer Series 3.
The Sontarans, 2 Parter in Series 4 titled "The Sontaran Stratagem":
Yipeey! The rumour has turned out to be true. The Sontarans have so far been in Doctor Who 4 times so along with this 2 Parter they'll match Davros's appearances (currently 5). There is also a strong rumour that Davros is returning too.
In the new series episode we get to see a Sontaran War fleet which has been a long time coming as previous glimpses of the largest military fleet in Doctor Who have only shown three ships together at most.
It would be awesome if he returned and it would be good to remind the young folk Who didn't start in 2005.
It would need quite some explaining though. They could cop out and just make him a secondary character but likewise they may make him an alternate Doctor Who, as that lets face it would be massive for the show. Especially having Tom Baker back, probably the biggest of all the Doctor Who's.
I've just seen the Series 4 Trailer on the Beeb. It looks ace. There was a Sontaran shot, as well as shots of Catherine Tate, Martha and Rose. Martha was covered in gunge, look oddly sexy. I believe it starts on the 5th of April which would tie in with when Torchwood finishes.
No shots of Davros though, if he's actually coming at all.
Maybe but (Tom) Baker is known to be notoriously difficult to get a definite yes or no out out of.
He was supposed to be in the 20th Anniversary 5 Doctors until he eventually said no and they had to use unused footage from an incomplete serial that never aired.
Yeah that is weird. I guess Torchwood costs much less to make. I could well believe that, but instead don't bother filming Torchwood in HD, it's mostly dreadful anyway.
6:20pm is way too early. I'll probably PVR it and watch it later anyway, so no huge loss to me.
Why do you say they're his favourite villain? They are one of the better "New Series invented" villains. They are much better than The Slitheen, who've also appeared more than once.
Agreed it was miles better, it wouldn't exactly be hard though. I like the comediac moments in Episode 1 but otherwise it was really poor. Next weeks looks even better.
