The Simpsons Cancelled!

Post by bradavon »

I thought that would get your attention :D

I just saw on the News The Simpson's has been cancelled in Venezuela from its early morning slot, as it wasn't considered suitable for kids. It's been replaced with Baywatch :D. So cartoons aren't suitable but giving the impression boob jobs are suitable for young girls is okay.

though having said that, The Simpsons is a mere shadow of its former self

Fixed. I don't watch it, it's very overrated IMO.

Shame it hasn't been cancelled across the board, it has been unwatchable for years.

I's still better than 99% of the other crap on TV.
Some episodes are too farfetched and dont make a lot of sense anymore, but usually you still have at least 3-4 LOL moments. At least for me.
It's still very good. Some people are just bored with it, so they think it's best if the show is gone, but personally I want them to just keep going. You'll have good and bad episodes, but so what!?

As far as TV shows go I don't think Ashes to Ashes is overrated. I just watched ER on C4 and have never found that to be overrated, as per usual the writing was brilliant.

Just because I often find cult films/tv shows overrated (the sort where fans think you're mentally ill if you disagree with them), it doesn't mean I find everything overrated

I think overrated is an odd criticism. It says little about the film or show, more about the general opinion. It's not a film's fault if someone feels it to be overrated

Its just becuase Brad listens to everyone and is a sheep, so when he finds them overated, its becuase he overread everything about the film or TV show, probibly spoiling it in the process :D

I would rather watch almost anything else and firmly believe they should send it to the farm.

Like you've never used the word overrated Romero. You more of a stuck record than me at times, with your trolling about my taste of films and how I choose to watch them  .

Agreed it is an odd word to use, but people tend to know what people mean by it.

It wasn't, before people ruined it :D

Well I found the original news funny.

Simpsons has been awful for like 8 or 9 years now, they should've gone out whilst the writing quality was still bleeding edge, like Seinfeld (ironically Seinfeld's last episode was the biggest piece of shit ever.).

American studios rarely know when the right time to end a show really is and cannot resist milking so many shows past the point of no return.

Ah, another one of Brad's generalisations about American television. Broken record.

Fuck off.

If you bothered to read what I actually said, you'd see there was no generalisation. Can't I make a comment without dick heads presuming I'm generalising. I guess not .

With the exception of Oz which was rather consistent as I recall I can't think of a case where this has not been true.

The current season is apparently better than the ones for the past few years. A few weeks ago I saw one of the new Sky 1 episodes (the ones on a Sunday) and thought it was pretty good :)
