England v France

Post by grim_tales »

Not sure how Capello can say he was "happy" with this - we were "all right" but really outclassed by a better side. France passed the ball better, and also had more possession. :? It's only the second game but clearly theres lots of work to do.
Becks only made 1 decent cross all game :?

What i saw of it the game looked absolute shit. I really don't care about England though,in fact i wish Rafa would pull our players out with fake injuries before needless friendlies like last night's timewaster.

Holland went 3-0 down against a very good Austria in the first half. Sadly though, the Austrians decided to be pussies and lean back to protect their 3-0 lead, and stopped playing football, and Holland came back and won the match 3-4.

Damn Holland :( Damn Austrians :( My whole evening ruined, were it not for a great performance by Young Orange that night, with the amazing Aissati, who won 3-0 against some small-name country.

Cause Holland SUCKS under coach Van Basten! Just no fun to watch. I was rooting for the Austrians to kick their ass!

Jong Orange is much more entertaining to watch. Couch Foppe de Haan is awesome, and that team has some great great players.
And you know Sno from Celtic? He's the forward in that team and does great :)
But my favourite player is definately PSV's Aissati. Just brilliant, but hardly ever plays for his team :(

I don't know Sno I'm afraid but I know Vengoor of Hesselink or whatever his name is :)
I hope England can improve but we were playing a tough side, this is what these friendlies are for.

1-0 against France shouldnt be something to be ashamed of, although I havent seen the match so maybe both sides were piss-poor...

Vennegoor of Hesselink is his name. I think he scored a goal yesterday, though I'm not 100% sure.
Huntelaar scored 2, and Heitinga scored 1.

Thanks Yi. Why is he called that BTW with the "of"? :)
I agree with you that 1-0 v France in Paris isnt a disgrace and not to be ashamed of, but we were poor and France were better.

England are just fodder for the proper football teams to get some practice in for the euros

I have no idea, Grim. It's just a bit of an old name I guess, which is used in some parts of Holland. Some last names are just weird I guess.

So it's not 'of' as in belonging to?

Like he's Vennegoor and he's from Hesselink?

Could be, maybe way way back... that it was something like 'sheriff of nottingham' or whatever...

Like I said, I havent got a clue. I'm not a name-expert :)
