That's shocking. It sounds unwatchable. I'd prefer a law was passed banning smoking in films than allowing it but then censoring it out anyway. Where is the logic in that?

I hope Film makers stop showing smoking in their films. What a dumb rule! They allow smoking anywhere you like in bars etc... but not movies.

Do Mangpong censor their DVDs ever? Thanks btw.

Actually they will ban smoking from bars here in holland also next year and i think in england also, so then you wil have to smoke outside on the street.

We're talking about Thailand though

It's already banned in the UK. The first stage was Scotland in the Summer of 2006 and the ban came into full force in Summer 2007 in England and Wales. In California you're not even allowed to smoke in the street. I think that is too far.

I think they censor sometimes but i am not 100% sure why they do it sometimes and other times not, thats why i didnt answer it

I'm spelling it phonetically (as if they were English words). I've no idea how Thais spell it with Romanic letters. It's the only unusual sentence I know, it can come in very handy though.

I speak a bit thai ( i go there usually 2 times per year, also because my wife is thai) so she likes to go back also whenever we can, I am still learning every day but if i have to guess what you are saying i think it is;

The film definitely delivers in the action stakes, and I’d go on record as saying it has the most satisfying fight sequences of any Thai actioner since Born To Fight (also out on Dragon Dynasty, naturally!). As mentioned above, Jeeja suffered for her art, and the film features end credit outtakes of Jackie Chan proportions.

Thanks. I imagine the DD will be better but Cine-Asia will hopefully give us a 2 Disc SE too.

Another interesting thing is that they also had trailers for other Premier Asia / Contender titles..are these companies linked or did Cine Asia / Showbox buy them out?

I wonder if Contender sold some of their titles to Showbox.

Oh btw i watched this movie the other night there (subbed too) and it kinda stunk. Action is A1

but the rest is quite boring.

Jeeja is technically a different screenfighter to Jaa which is no bad thing, she is less acrobatic and more grounded however the dissapointing thing is when you notice all of her flashier moves have been done with the assistance of wires!

I think it was at least implied they wouldn't be using wires. I can understand some are disappointed.

Its a thai action movie from a stable of screen fighters/talent which rasied the bar in terms of fight choreography worldwide through thier lack of wire work and thier focus on sheer mind boggling physical ability.

I have already said the action is A1 and she is extremely talented and different to Jaa (which is no bad thing as i am quite frankly bored of him) but i was dissapointed at some obvious wirework as the fact of the matter is she could have done the moves without it and it was just for artistic slo mo effect!!

How can you be bored with tony jaa after 2 movies ( i dont count the ones before ong bak and i also dont count the bodyguard)

I am personally glad he is out there so i dont have to watch donnie yen (who always does the same things) every time i want to see a fight flick..
At least tony tries to do new moves every time, thats why i have high hopes for ong bak 2.

Same here. I love Tony Jaa. He's nr. 1 as far as action is concerned.
Donnie Yen can suck my balls, he's been in the business for almost 25-30 years now and he has only made about 5-10 decent movies. Some great.

, ironically I do have TYG in my "to watch" pile soon. I figure I shouldn't write him off after only one movie.

Donnie Yen is way more exciting to watch. Agreed though Yi Donnie should've made more great movies.

Sure Tony has the moves (not that I found them "that" exciting) but Ong-Bak anyway has utterly no story or plot to go with it. Like many Jackie Chan moves I do wonder why these bother to make a film (which brings with it those boring elements such as plot and story) and not just make a stunt documentary. That would be a more suitable avenue.

Eh? Its only my opinion and im entitled to it.

Hate repeating myself but i felt Ong Bak, Tony Jaa & Panna Rittikrai collectively raised the bar in terms of fight choreography and the technical execution of stunts worldwide. It was a case of move over HK and the rest of the world...this is how its done.

Post Ong Bak the same team involved released Tom Yum Goong which although i absolutely love action wise i feel it's was a little repetative and aside from a higher calibre of opponent Jaa showed nothing more to me.

Since then Panna Rittikrai and others closely involved have punted out stuff like mercury man, tabunfire, brave, Muay Thai Chia and now chocolate. They have also promoted newcomers Alan B, Dan Chupong and now Jeeja as the next Tony Jaa. I believe none of them can match his on screen ability and that all those films are steaming turds.

I think in SPL Donnie Yen not only re-invinted himself again but him Sammo and Wu jing rasied the bar in terms of action choreography and has remained consistent in terms of his action scenes in Flashpoint in adding something new again.

Everything i have seen from Ong Bak 2 in terms of the casting of Jaa's opponents (Tim Man etc) indicate we will see him come up against and even higher caliber of opponent than Tom Yum Goong, this makes my cockles warm but i hope Jaa rasies the bar again in terms of what he does best as i have him trailing Donnie Yen on my current scorecard!!
