Videodrome: 4/5

Disturbing, wierd and hard to watch at times but still a very good film.
I found the ending wierd/ambiguous: Did Max really kill himself in order to destroy Videodrome? Maybe that was part of their plan (to get them to kill himself) after all - Niki telling him what to do with the tapes meant she had died on Videodrome for real

Trainspotting - 8 out of 10

It's been years since I've seen this and it's on my "need to re-watch" pile.

It's flipping excellent. Great 90s music throughout, some really clever and cool camera work and Ewan McGregor as per usual brilliant.

Seriously, agreed it's a flipping fantastic Central American movie and clearly shows how strong Latin speaking cinema is.

Monty Python's Spamalot (London)

I loved it, hilarious!

Great songs (not only the Python movie ones but some other original ones) but also very, very funny indeed. Some numbers have choreography that recall musicals like Singin' In The Rain, and the songs are great and seem to stick in your head, maybe as some sound like other songs (eg the Find Your Grail song, A Song that Goes Like This etc), and also other Python songs (Bright Side of Life etc). The script, taken from the film, is brilliant. Certainly worth seeing.

Beowulf - 2/5
99% of this film was CGI, even a lot of the characters - I hope this doesn't start a trend. The film was poor, there were some exciting parts but why oh why did they have to change the story? It's brilliant already and would have made for a better film had they just left it alone, and used real people....

I like these sorts of films, good watch and CYF was fun.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - 3/5
Too long and thought it may have been well made with fair acting it just wasn't at all interesting.

Ghosts (UK, 2006) – 2,5/5
Stuck in the middle. Nick Broomfield’s film deals with an extremely important subject, but it can’t decide whether it’s a documentary or a fictional feature. The outcome is a spiced up true story of 24 illeagal Chinese immigrants in the UK, of which 23 died in an accident. Highly interestingly, the main character is played by the actual real life person. The rest of the cast consists of non-professional actors, most of them not too convincing. Just wait for the British gangster landlord. The HD cinematography looks excellent and the story is gripping, but ultimately the film cripples itself with the two way execution. Important experience, but from a film making point of view this is merely an average achievement.

Walk Hard:Dewey Cox Story Unrated 3/5

Entertaining enough comedy featuring the life story of the fictional singer Dewey Cox is very good for the first hour or so but loses it's way a little in the final third .some catchy songs and fairly raunchy for a mainstream usa movie (lingering close up of a cock!) at 2 hrs overlong,the theatrical 98 minute version may play better.

just recently re-watched it, what a film! haha

Mortal Kombat crossed with mad Max, on crack and insert some Rhona Mitra boobiness and your onto a classy film

and it cost 1% of the stupidly expensive CGI Beowolf
