Bout a year ago I used to frequent the Thedvdforums.com. But since then my priorities have shifted away from films and onto PC and console hardware and software. It'll swing back to movies eventually.

xtemplex? Subscribers to the Straight Edge philosophy are morons and the Hardcore music genre is unlistenable trash. Even Brad's grandma pop has more merit than that bile.

I dont like KFCCinema. They sided with Miramax. They're corrupt. They have no principles.

This is a discussion forum, not a film blog.

Can't stand KFC, lots of hyper teenagers that like Korean films and Donnie Yen.

And i do my best to promote and get everyone to watch korean and thai movies, it worked with the korean movies they are showing them now also on the movie channels and before they never showed any....now i just have to promote the thai movies a bit more and then they are next... :D

I didn't know you were responsible for the proliferation of Korean films here in the west Rico (and here's me thinking it was down to success of Oldboy at Cannes!), so well done there!

It'll be a cold day in hell before Thai films make such a splash over here, there's no consistency in their output and they haven't hit a creative boom like Korea did a few years ago. Personally I can't see it happening in the near future because they don't have much talent within their industry.

No, and I still find it more interesting than Thai and Korean films.

How can you not like Korean movies? I'm not saying they're all great, but there are some really outstanding gems made in Korea, which are definate must-see's.

Taegukgi, My Sassy Girl, Bin Yip, etc.

I agree, although my list would be:

The Host
Memories of Murder
My Tutor Friend
Oldboy
Save the Green Planet!
Sympathy for Lady Vengeance

Havent seen The Host or Lady Vengeance yet.

There's a very good deal at a local store now, where 3=25 euro. And there's a three-pack with Old Boy, Mr and Lady vengeance, which counts as 1, and the Host (s.e.) would be my nr. 2 (not the toilet-version), but there's no good option as nr. 3 to pick yet, so I'm waiting for another nice choice to pick in that deal, so I'll have 5 movies for 25 euro.

My Tutor Friend I saw and thought was OK, but I didnt really like the male lead much, and I would never place it above My Sassy Girl.
Memories of Murder was good, and Save the Green Planet was very good as well, although I didnt watch it till the end sadly.

Well of course I like some Korean films, I even like some Thai films ...well A Thai film. Doesn't mean the vast majority aren't shit along with the whole industry.

My Tutor Friend? Image

Of the top of my head:
SFMV, Oldboy, JSA, MSG, Oasis, Save the Green Planet, Take Care of My Cat, Flower Island and The Housemaid.

If you liked My Tutor Friend, you might wanna check out this movie, Only Love, by the same actors and director, which is only a few bucks

If only seen a handful of Korean movies (nothing that's blown my skirt up thus far...) and a single Thai export (Ong Bak, natch).

I haven't yet seen My Sassy Girl, simply because every release seemed to have a problem with it. I wouldn't class My Tutor Friend as a 'must-see' film, but I really like it.

A gasteropod (more commonly spelt, 'gastropod') is a mollusc. Mr. Burns refers to Homer as one in an episode, and it made me laugh out loud for a minute or two, so it became my online name ;)
