They do it the same way, just with children and salted fish products.

Rashomon: 4.25/5

A fine film but not as entertaining as some of the other Kurosawa films I've seen :D

Life on Mars S1: E8 - 5/5

Knowing what I know, what a cliffhanger finale to the series.

It would've sucked if that was the end though.

What Rashomon DVD did you buy? Criterion or R4.

Munich: 3.5 outta 5

Good political actiony-style revenge movie (Hell, I dont know how to describe it), with a great cast and a nice story.
Soundtrack and cinematography were pretty mediocre though.

I also like how the message of the movie was that basically 2 wrongs dont make a right... that it's an ongoing struggle that wont be solved by killing eachother over and over again, etc etc.
Spielberg did a good job on this one, showing that people do what they feel they have to do for 'their country, their people, their family', and it's not strictly about right or wrong...

I'm sure he has gotten heat from both 'camps', but personally I feel he pretty much painted a nice picture of the situation. It wasnt one-sided, or whatever.

Anyway, 3.5 outta 5.

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

I rented the BFI version, but I'm not sure which DVD is the best, the R4?

Lucky S1 E8 isnt the end of LOM.

LOM S2 E1 - 4.5/5

Rambo (USA, 2008) – 4,5/5
Second viewing, and still tough as fuck. Nothing to complain about.

Delinquent Girl Boss: Blossoming Night Dreams (Japan, 1970) – 4/5
Kazuhiko Yamaguchi is slowly but unsurely becoming one of my favourite directors. I’ve enjoyed every film I’ve seen from him, and Blossoming Night Dreams is no exception. While not as good as Worthless to Confess, this opening part in the series is an enormously entertaining girl gang pop film. The cast is excellent with Toei’s crown jewel dynamo Reiko Oshida playing the lead role, and reliable genre actors such as Yukie Kagawa and Nobuo Kaneko giving support. The most impressive supporting performances are given by Tatsuya Umemiya and Junko Miyazono, who plays her role as the leader of the gang with charisma that reminded me of Junko Fuji.

Based on the specification I'd say yes as the R4 extras look much better. I would imagine the Criterion is a wee bit more expensive but I've not seen any captures to say which actually is the best.

I do know it's a toss up between the Criterion and Madman.

It doesn't happen often but it's another rare time when I agree with you about a film :D

That is surprising. It came out a long while after generally speaking Madman stopped doing that.

Brad, yes I did :D
Yi, why can't both side stop killing each other? :( Nothing will get better if militants keep attacking the other side, leading to retaliation. There must be both Israelis and Plaestinians who want peace right?

More needless and unproductive moderating from Bradley.

I would imagine any moderation you would consider pointless, no?

The talk had been going on for the past 2 days and has enough posts to warrant it's own dedicated thread. It's much more suitable in it's own thread than here.

Please explain how it's more productive being mixed in with a Film Review thread?

Why not just let it happen instead of getting angry each time? It's not as if it's that big of a deal. Constant bickering isn't going to make it happen less.

Brad, you did right. It was getting bloody boring for someone who isn't interested in the matter.
