RIP Bobby 'Linn' Haynes

Post by saltysam »

Just saw the shocking news over at kung fu cinema that kung fu movie expert Bobby Haynes, who posts here as linn, has tragically died :(
i've copied this from kung fu cinema...

Members of the Forum,
I regret to inform you that we have lost one of our friends, one of the most well informed and inspiring, honest members of this and many other forums, Bobby "Linn" Haynes.

I just received an e-mail from Linn's wife informing me that Linn died on Feb 28th in a car accident.

Linn's contributions to the forum and assistance with the DVD releases of many classic Hong Kong movies leaves behind a legacy that we all should respect.

You may visit www.bridgesfh.com to view information and leave a message. (I need not remind you that any messages should be supportive and polite)

I trust that we will all remember Linn and his contributions, and offer our condolences to his family at this time.

Jesus, that's terrible news! He was genuinely one of the most respectful and knowledgable fans on the asian fan scene. What a tragic loss. :(

That's sad :( I'm sure Linn posted on ADVDG, and maybe on BnB as well.

RIP

Jesus. That's absolutely terrible news. I had enormous respect for Linn. Not only was he the most knowledgeable authority on Kung Fu movies I knew, but a nice guy too. My thoughts go to his wife after this tragedy.

RIP, mate. :(

EDIT: Did anyone here post a message to his wife/family at Bridges? I don't know what to say...?

Weird.
He was around here for a long time and I never noticed him.

I guess he was the quiet, knowledgeable type.
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Damn, I kinda hoped that this was some sort of stupid early April joke.

Really sad. Well informed person and always generously sharing his knowledge.

Wow, that's so sad! How horrible for his wife.

Was Linn1's avatar on the original BnB the vampire smiley?

That is sad.

I didn't speak to him much, he didn't post much here.

Regardless it is sad news.

Linn was one of the few guys who seemed to "have a lot of connections", but was very humble and was a true fan like the rest of us. One of the few to truly help bring the classics of Asian cinema to the masses. Hopefully BCI, Image, Media Blasters, and other companies Linn worked with will acknowledge him in future releases. We all know he more than deserves it.

Very sad. It was terrific that someone from the actual DVD industry would take the time out of their busy schedules to actually field queries on internet forums.
