Unlike in the US, where the Oscars are on Network, in the UK, they're only on SKY, which we don't have (and a premium channel to boot!) When the ceremony was on the BBC when I was younger I used to stay up all night (a fun ritual) but now I couldn't be arsed, even if I didn't have to get up early. Jon Stewart is about as funny as piles, and considering he was reportedly the same last year it's a surprise they asked him back. Guess he's fucking the right execs? Bring back Billy Crystal or Steve Martin. I watch so few new movies now that frankly I just didn't care who won. I'd heard that NCFOM was over-rated and now it's won Best Picture I just know it'll be a disappointment (as the best films rarely ever win).

Whose Colbert? I presume he's an American chat show host. I rarely find them funny myself.
Colbert was a regular 'corresponent' on The Daily Show, untill he got his own show, which is the best thing on television EVER (imho)
It's just awesome in every way. The biggest comedic talent in the history of the USA. The guy, and I've been watching him from his Daily Show days, is really just BRILLIANT. There is no other word for it.
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...
I'm not a fan of the Coens per se... whilst I appreciate some of their films as good (Fargo, Miller's Crossing...) I find them a bit too smug and cold around the heart for my taste. I did like The Huducker Proxy a lot: it's their most warm and charming film by a mile.
Fargo is even more overrated than No Country for Old Men.
I cannot stand The Daily Show, just woeful. I don't tend to "get" American humour though. I don't think of the comedy in most American comedies to be "American" humour really and more "International Humour". Few people of a certain age wouldn't find parts of American Pie unfunny.
The Daily Show had a drop in quality after a lot of the original cast left...
The new correspondents are ok, some very good, some OK, but it's not as good as it was before, with Colbert, Steve Carell, Rob Corddry, Ed Helms and Samantha Bee...
Before Colbert LEFT, Jon Stewart was also doing his schtick more serious, whereas now he seems to laugh at his own jokes to much. Colbert on the other hand, stays in character pretty much all the time on his new show, and while most talkshows kinda rely on the guests they have, Colbert is capable of having a GREAT interview with pretty much everyone, because he's so quick and great at improv, and has such a warped mind.
