Bullets 'n Babes: The Departed

Post by tom2681 »

Confirmed dead:

Mister Gil: died in late 2004. Was assassinated by TigerCage after a heated argument regarding the theatrical subtitles on Hero.
brassmonkey001: born 16 Jan 2005, died 19 Oct 2005. Commited suicide after misreading one of my posts.
ICE-angel: born 04 Dec 2004, died 10 Aug 2005. Killed himself by erasing all his posts.
Cooey: born 25 Oct 2004, died 18 Mar 2007. Although his body was never found, he left some famous last words. His last words were: "No worries".
donnarose: born 25 Aug 2005, died 04 Nov 2005. I suspect foul play. The last thing she ever did was call 68Monkey a "he".
Unrealnils: born 26 Oct 2004, died 16 Mar 2007. Based on the date of death, I can only assume that Nils and Cooey were the same person.
Keung: born 23 Jan 2005, died 15 Jun 2007. Was assassinated for the contents of his computer. Last words: "you'd never think there's atleast 80Gb of stuff hidden in 'My Documents' folder".
ReconFive: born 26 Dec 2004, died 31 Oct 2007 right after seeing "Eye in the Sky". Proof that bad HK films can lead people to suicide.
Gojensen: born 01 Nov 2004, died 06 Jul 2007. Assassinated by EvaUnit02.

Missing in action:

Mordib: disappeared on 05 Aug 2007 while trying to fix some kind of e-mail problem.
Kurgan: disappeared on 16 Jul 2007.
slasher13: disappeared on 07 Dec 2007.
Bisclimpkit: disappeared on 16 Jan 2008. His last words were "Happy Feet?". Maybe he was trying to tell us something.
Romerojpg: disappeared on 22 Jan 2008. Last words: "Convince him to give me all his cash." I assume he got the cash, went to Barbados and forgot us completely.

Any news? Anything?

Very good :D

Slasher pops in from time to time. Romero hasn't disappeared, AFAIK. It is weird about Bisc. he just stopped posting.

Mordib never was a full time poster, you'd think he'd pop in to say Hello every now and again, considering this forum is on some web server he's still connected to. I don't think it costs him anything though.

Good riddance to Mister Gil, man he was a tosser.

Don't forget Bruce Leeroy. He's married now so his wifey probably has him chained to the sofa :D . Slasher is married too and I think Unreal is also.

I really should post less. I do post way, way too much online.

Or maybe they eloped to live a life of sin in the sun?

It happens.

It's amazing how quickly you forget about people when they leave.

Can't find Bisc, though.

What happened regarding Mister Gill? I want more gossip!

His brief reign at DVD Times as Fulltime Killer was hilarious!

Really?
Go have a conversation with "The Running Man" on the AsianDVDGuide forum (that's Gil, BTW).
You'll want to kill him after just two posts.

Here is the infamous Fulltime Killer thread:

I'm not a member of dvdtimes so cant see it probably

And me and Gil usually got along pretty OK. We didnt disagree much, and usually he got into huge arguments with people who felt THEY were right, and Gil got upset cause he thought HE was right.
Personally, if I say something, and someone else says I'm wrong and he IS right, and I AM wrong, I will just say 'ow ok, I'm wrong'. (ofcourse it doesnt happen very often that I'm really wrong, cause when I dont know something I usually just ask, and when I'm not sure I use 'I think', or 'I believe', so that avoids conflict.

So me and Gil usually saw eye to eye.
Also, he usually got people pissed of at him cause they didnt properly read what he had written, and the misunderstood etc.

Ah well... he's gone. He wasnt well liked by many, but I never had any problems with the guy. We got along OK, and he even thanked me on a couple of occasions through PM for helping him out in some discussions...
Because he was so disliked, that people stopped caring if what he said was right or wrong, but were just being very rude, bitchy and arrogant towards him. (not just here btw, but also over at CityonFire.com)

Well, if people are rude towards me on here, cityonfire.com, DVD Times and constantly get into arguments at the AsianDVDGuide forum, I'd start thinking that "MAYBE I" am being an ass.

Ow, he wasnt diplomatic, that's for sure. I'm not denying that he couldnt have solved some arguments better, and I told him that in the PM's. Just as advice.

I'm not going to defend him or whatever. He's capable of doing that himself if he'd choose to do so. I'm just saying that I personally never had a problem with him, and we often agreed in stuff, and saw eye to eye on a lot of subjects.

I've just had a look at Cityonfire.com. The artwork is fantastic.

The forum looks all but dead though. This is the only Asian forum I post at. Technical Forums aside (AV Forums, Digital Spy etc . . .) where I only post if I have a question I tend to find most forums are too much hassle to get into and become a local.

Except for Bullets the only other Fan Forum I post at is Imports Forum. That has a good friendly banter feel to it too. Many forums have naff all threads in them too, making them pointless. The DVD Active forum is so small and badly laid out there's barely any point in it.

What about you guys?
Yeah, COF is a great looking site. I've liked the design from the early beginning, very often very funny, and just plain cool. There used to be a section with old artwork and stuff, but sadly it seems to have been removed.

The forum used to be great fun with a really loose atmosphere where there was TOTAL freedom of speech, which I'm for. But the last few years it's really been a lot more quiet. There's a core group of maybe 6-10 people... I think... and those have been there from the beginning.
But sadly, it's a bit too quiet nowadays.

Is anyone else starting to think that Yi-Long is Mister Gil?

C'mon be honest now! :D

Apart from The Running Man what other nom de plumes did Gil use here? Wasn't there one that was a regular name like Jonathan Stathes or something close?

Still, I don't miss Gil that much. I mean, if I want to argue with an infuriating knob there's always Brad... ;)

Fulltime Killer at DVD Times

I think the original Running Man was Jonathan Stathes, and the current one is Gil

I didnt really have a problem with Gil either though he was rude and a knob to most other people. I remember the famous Equilibrium argument where he tried to convince everyone it was a deep meaningful film and not full of holes

I don't recall ever being banned from the old BnB, he did delete a load of my posts in a thread where we were having a debate though.
