Not in my opinion. I'm with LD. Sure she can act and is good at it but she's no Maggie Cheung, Helen Mirren or even Scarlett Johansson (i.e - roughly the same age).

I've liked every performance she's done I've seen but she never amazes me in the way the above women do. I never said btw she wasn't a real actor, that's your words. /
No they're not...

What about female actors too? Don't forget those. Maggie Cheung for example is easily up there with Tony Leung for talent. I cannot think of any Korean actresses who really impress me. Ji-hyun Jun is always lots of fun but she's not a "real" actor.

Okay Touché ;)

It does make an interesting point though: That when you're pissed off you neglect to have a rant at DD for their latest (probable) cock up :D

And she ain't bad to look at either.
p.s - It's listed as 126 minutes on DD's website. It's not looking good:

I own quite a few DD titles, enough to notice that most of the time, the info on the back of the box (and on their website) is inaccurate.

Ehm.... no!? As long as they release the movies UNCUT and subbed, theres no need for me to rant... and it's pretty much always been that way...

Thanks. Let's hope it's the same here.

If it is uncut and the correct language it should be a stonker of a release.

Are you the same Yi-Long who has just had a 2 page rant with me over how shit DD are? And how much of a tosser their esteemed leader is? And how awful it is FOL still hasn't been released? And you're not ready to give them the benefit of the doubt?

You've changed your tune just a bit.

p.s - Going by current info The Banquet will be cut, so rant away :D

Well... just because you dont understand the difference between ranting about movies being cut to pieces, or not being released at all, or being dub only, etc etc.. and a movie having an ugly cover or a namechange... doesnt mean I have to bitch about everything

Like I said many MANY times before. I just want these movies to be released uncut, and subbed. That's pretty much all.
Yeah, I dislike namechanges and ugly covers as much as the next guy, but TBH that I can live with... kinda...

I have always been very very clear (I think) about where I stand on these issues.
You keep pretending I have a hugely biased hatred towards Dragon Dynasty, but I dont. I do have a huge hatred against Harvey Weinstein, and if I would ever come across him by accident, I will kick his head off his fat yabbabody.

And yeah, doesnt surprise me they're gonna cut The Banquet (and rename it). I just hope that if it's a good movie, the R3 will have english subs.

Have you even bothered to click on The Banquet link? Ordinarily you'd be ranting well away ;)

Firstly stop fucking using capitols to make your point I understand you quite well without them, secondly it's getting boring repeating yourself. I understand your stance just fine, repeating yourself doesn't somehow make you any more clear.

You act like you're unique in what you ask for, you're not!

How mature of you.

Try reading comments from other members before jumping to conclusions  .

Why are you getting so irate anyway? I was only joking, jeez! You're the one who usually cannot resist having a pop at Harvey and DD. And before you say again you've got nothing against DD you only recently had a pop at them based on zero knowledge of the DVD.
Yi-Long wrote:I just hope that if it's a good movie, the R3 will have english subs.
Try doing some research

Guys, you're really going round in circles.

The R3 was released in November of 2006. I liked the film. It comes across very Shakespearean. As for the running time, the R3 runs 131 minutes. So if the DD running time of 126 is true, then they will have cut 5 minutes. But I'd just wait and see if it was a mistake on the news site's behalf.

Well, you keeps asking the same guestions over and over again (just like some of us keep bitching about HKL)

It probably wasn't more than two months ago when Tom listed everybody's comments about Fatal Contact when you asked about the film last time

And what does happen when mods step in?
EDIT: never mind, I can figure that out myself: everybody attacks Brad

Did I? 8) . I don't remember it but I stand back against your wealth of knowledge ;)

I may repeat myself but I'm not as bad as those who bash HKL that happens annually :D

Okay but that's not exactly a review to work on 8)

In short everyone thought it was good but average at best. I'll pass.

A few quick notes about DD's Royal Tramp Collection:
No pink skin tones.
Tons of grain, especially part 1.
No mono/stereo, only remixes.
Subs get names right--Wilson Bond is no more.

Give us both Mono/Stereo and 5.1 remixes!

Fortune Star may've supplied them with downmixes, which would be pointless to include.

Why should there be a problem with film grain?
I'm back AGAIN.

Well it depends "how much grain" but I don't think Ricky was saying it's a problem just that it has lots of it.
RickyTheDragonSteamboat wrote:Fortune Star may've supplied them with downmixes, which would be pointless to include.
True. Personally I'd still prefer it's inclusion though as a downmixed Mono soundtrack compared with a bombastic and in your face 5.1 remix is still better than nothing.

5.1 remixes can go one of two ways:

* Effectively Stereo (see most HKL DVDs)
* Or so over the top and annoying you just scream everytime you listen to them (see Fortune Star and most Anchor Bay DVDs)

I'd much rather have each and every release from every company kept the film grain instead of DNR'ing it to hell.
I'll never understand why people have such an issue with it anyway...

Film grain can be problematic if it's unnatural... see HKL's The Iceman Cometh.

I said "it depends how bad it is" ;) , it's no good if it's unwatchable, not that that is often the case.

Downmixed 5.1 to mono is still going to be in your face, if that's how the 5.1 sounded
