I've seen it two months ago and while it is an ok film, I didn't find "Zodiac" that worth of remembering.

Fair point, sorry.
degeneration wrote:brad - why don't you play and just google for some screen caps? It's not that difficult!
I normally do but then you only get the dickheads who moan about aspect ratio and spoil it for all of us. Then you get those who moan when I pass my go to someone else but let others do it. It's actually quite tricky to find suitable captures on Google which aren't the same pictures everyone has seen, then finding another capture again of the same film if no on guesses it.

But you're right if I know I'll say and screw those who care if someone else takes my go. It's a game so who cares, right!

As it happens I wasn't playing but was amazed by Eva's guess. I think he was taking the piss.

You're not alone, as this film was a flop in comparison to its expectations. Personally, I found it to be extremely well done character piece. I'm guessing that many viewers were expecting a riveting suspense/horror film, which Zodiac was not. The scene I chose for the guess above was one that sent chills all through me, and I certainly had a hard time shaking it for several days.

The trailer for Zodiac didn't help at all. It made it look nothing at all like what we actually got.

Personally I think Seven and Fight Club are just brilliant, I also like Alien 3 Theatrical Cut too but Zodiac while I could really see it's cleverness and the script was excellent, actually had way too much detail (it's not often I can say that about Hollywood films). By the half way point my brain was hurting at how much detail was being thrown at me. Add that to the 4-5 huge end credit explanation screens which ran by so fast you couldn't read them, I found it to just have too much detail.

It's as if David Fincher had to show us literally every detail of the case which is commendable but it doesn't lend itself well to a film (whereas a book it would work very well). The phrase "less is more" comes into play here. The end text struck me as Fincher running out of time and blindly insisting upon more information being given.

I would like to see it again though as there was definitely brilliance trying so hard to get through.

6 out of 10 - That's not a bad mark btw, just what I think it's worth.

Zodiac was way better than the vastly overrated Fight Club, one of the most pretentious films ever made imo.

Nope. it's a comedy and from a genre that was very popular in mid 70's british cinema.

That last capture looks like a very famous British TV show from the 80s but I've completely forgotten who the famous writer was behind it.
