Film

Takashi Miike's dark superhero sequel is a genre parody and political satire with good production values. Message and somewhat incompetent characterization are occasionally favored at the expense of entertainment value, making Zebraman 2 a more grown up but also less wild ride than Miike's previous genre pic Yatterman. Sho Aikawa returns to the title role, suppoted by cute girl Riisa Naka (The Girl Who Leaped Through Time, 2010), practically unrecognizable as über-sexy Zebra Queen. Naka, while no pop star by profession, performs two excellent songs for the film's soundtrack.

Note: there is one scene in the movie where something is possibly wrong. In some shots (not all) in that scene vertical lines are visible. In a screencapture you can't see vertical lines but instead it looks like this:

My PS3 commited harakiri last week so I have no way of telling if the problem is with my computer software or on the disc.
