DD have never released any BDs but as Cine-asia will have to re-author into PAL, hopefully they'll make BDs whilst they are it. Presuming DD passing on Masters suitable for HD of course.

Some of DD's transfers aren't suitable for BD.
Cine Asia's quality control is uneven so I expect we'll get exactly the same as the Americans.

True but I'd prefer it than nothing at all. Cine-asia seem to be the best for this genre in the UK now.

Would be good if Cine Asia got some of DD's unreleased Shaws.

Shame it's not uncut.
Also wasn't there supposed to be a terrible mastering flaw? Or am I thinking of something else?

Its got the blurry frame problem that affected Tai Chi Master.

It's still the best (English friendly) the films ever looked though "overall" obviously. The French DVD is the dogs nadgers. I have a DivX file of that, so obviously not identical but you can see it is a fine DVD.

Do we know for sure who will distributing FoL on BD in the UK?

Nope. I was going to say that too but then figured Weinstein probably owns the UK rights too.
It would also be a big coincidence, given this deal that's just been struck.

That's it. Well clearly that's not suitable for BD so they'll have to fix that for a start.

Cine-Asia.
They wouldn't split the rights with anyone else given they're a BD/DVD distributor.

Why are you so sure? Are you sure Weinstein own the UK rights? If not, it won't be part of this deal.

It's not suitable for DVD but that didn't stop them.

The best aspect of this deal for me is that Cine-asia release BDs but DD never have. If I wanted the DVD I'd have already bought it.

Any news if the DD discs are going out of stock? I was planning to pick up Fong Sai-Yuk at some point. It's a shame DD are probably finished now. They've only managed 33 discs released!

I've seen FSY at many stores for around $10 and with 36th Chamber coming to bluray in March, I don't think DD is going anywhere. But I've seen a couple Vivendi dvds and they have shit extras. I hope that's not the case for DD titles.

Is that DD releasing 36th Chamber on Blu-ray?
10 bucks! Crikey. Thanks. I'll get looking. Am I right in saying this? -
1. The DD DVD is the USA cut - Not because I want it but because I think it is
2. The DD DVD has the original Cantonese audio, it's in-sync and is Mono
3. The DD DVD has no serious picture quality problems
EDIT: It's £8.50 delivered from DVD Pacific or £6.50 delivered from Amazon UK Marketplace

. Both New!
