I'm not happy about this. I'm pretty sure these films will ruin my absolute favourite film franchise. :(

Oh please...

It's a great example of what could've been... but it felt more like a cheap tv show than anything resembling T2 (which again was much more costly and still inferior to The Terminator :D)
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

T3 was a PG-13 remake of T2 with boobs added onto Robert Patrick, lame humour, far less dialogue and an entirely forgettable score

When I first saw T3 I hated it. I gave it another chance 6 months later and enjoyed it a lot more. Obviously it's nowhere near as good as T1 or T2, not even close but for popcorn action fun it's better than a lot of tosh Hollywood gives us.

It's better than Pirates of the Caribbean or whatever that crud is called. Jonathan Mostow is a better director than T3 would lead you to believe though. His Breakdown is a really good little thriller.

Breakdown had something in common with T3:

Both films would've been better directed by James Cameron.

Arnie will be in the next Terminator movies - kind of. Apparently he has licensed his image so that the makers can make all the Terminators look like Arnie (in different guises).

Arnold Schwarzenenger will be seen in the next Terminator movie, after all! But don’t do back flips just yet, fans…

Representatives for Halcyon, the studio that recently acquired the rights to the Terminator franchise, tell EW the Austrian Oak has granted the company permission to use his likeness in the film.

“We’ll be using computer altered stock images of Arnold. That way we can span his entire career, from the frightening 80’s era Terminator to the ice cool T2 version”, says Halycon’s Derek Anderson.

Annabelle Gross, Schwarzenegger ’s rep, hinted further involvement in the series. “He’s signed on as Executive Producer for all three pictures, and we are in talks for further appearance licenseing”.

It’s believed that Schwarzenegger may be considering an offer from the studio to provide his facial features in the form of a cast.

“Terminator 4” will revolve around a thirty-something John Connor doing battle with the endoskeleton son-of-a-bitches.

What a dumbass idea (i.e - it won't work).

Huh? Breakdown would've been a completely different film if Cameron made it. I thought it was a solid thriller anyway.

Breakdown was great. Felt like Duel meets Deliverance. Kurt Russell's best film of that period, more than makes up for utter crap like Soldier.

Story was inaccurate
Last week Oak-fan TheArnoldFan.com's 'AB King' sent in a report stating that Arnold Schwarzenegger will executive produce AND appear in the next "Terminator" movie. The news was apparently straight from EW magazine, quoting a spokeswoman named 'Annabelle Gross'.
Sorry fans, but this just wasn't true. Haylcon contacted us today to let us know that AB's scoop was fabricated. Whoever passed it onto him, was pulling his leg.
There's just no such person as Annabelle Gross, and nobody from the company spoke to EW about the film nor has any kind of arrangement been made with Schwarzenegger to appear in the film.
You can check your sources out as much as you like, but when they're old-time reliable tipsters and online writers themselves, it's always a surprise to discover what you've - and the other sites emailed that item - been sent isn't correct.
Sounds like the news item was fluffed by some overactive fuckin' fanboy hoping Schwarzenegger will appear in the film. Get over it. New franchise. Possibly New Stars.
What we know so far is that Halycon are doing three new "Terminator" movies. There has been no director or cast announcements.

to be perfectly honest I'm looking forward to the completion of the Terminator story and I'll be pleased if we don't see Mr Schwarzenegger in any role other than a cameo at the end of the trilogy showing all three versions of him going back through the time portal.

While Terminator 3 is not in the same league as the first two movies it certainly isn't a bad movie and there are far worse sequels! The next movies will have to be much darker being post-apocalyptic more in the same vein as Kyle Reece's flashbacks in Terminator. Hopefully with some decent scripts and a decent director this should be a worthy trilogy follow-up. I think the main point is that they have to have the script for the whole story before they start filming part 1 of this new trilogy, otherwise it's far more likely to fail. They would probably do well to film all three in one go much like Lord Of the Rings and release them a year apart from one another. Here's hoping!

I thought The Negotiator was his last film?

I saw Breakdown at the flicks and was kinda disappointed. And I'm a Kurt Russell fan.

* McG to possibly direct T4: http://www.empireonline.com/News/story.asp?nid=21176
* Vin Diesel to possibly replace Arnie: http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=21194

How can we have gone from Cameron to McG? What on earth are they thinking, McG is probably the worst director in history. Vin Diesel may work though.

Who do you guys would make as a replacement for Arnie? Considering it's very unlikely Arnie will ever do another Terminator film again.

I think Vin Diesel is better than The Rock.

Nobody, they should just end the series.

But if I had to choose? I dunno, John Cena maybe.
