Colour corrections:

The new Ultimate Edition is better than the previous edition with stronger colours which appear more realistic. A much warmer colour
scheme has been used here with more oranges, reds and in some cases pinks. The R2 has the reputation for being overly pink,
especially in the opening shot. Thankfully, the R1 UE has toned these down a bit. Capture #4 really shows an amazing
improvment in both detail and colour. Dirt is completely gone thanks to Lowry Digital. Framing is better on the Ultimate Edition
with more on the top and bottom. It does vary from scene to scene but on a whole the framing is more accurate to what was probably
intended. As with the other UEs, the original theatrical subtitles are included.

UE wins.

Better colours, compression and framing.

I agree. Except for the awkward pinks that pop up in certain scenes. Other than that it is much better.

No they go on when you start it up. They really suck though. Check out the new caps I posted at the bottom. Special Thanks goes out to Markgway

Thanks CJ

Those look like removable subs (bar the opening scene)

Personally I prefer the SE, it's sharper and I'm glad they fixed some of the odd R2 pink BUT it's still not as white as it should be.

At the end of the day:

GE - UE is way worse
TND - It depends which you prefer but I wouldn't say either are massively better, certainly no need to upgrade
TWINE - UE looks better but again so does the SE
DAD - UE only minutely better.

In short I'm not going to bother to upgrade any PB Bonds.

I meant the old subs suck. The new ones are the original burnt-in subs. The fade in and out.

Fair enough. From captures they both look to suck but as you say you can tell everything from captures.

The R1 UE here is much better than Goldeneye. It's still cropped slightly on the left and right compared to the R1 SE but adds a little to the top and bottom to balance it out. I'd say image-wise the UE is the winner. The SE's sharpness is almost certainly edge-enhanced.

Anyone else notice that the R1 UE has more info on all four sides than the R2 UE?

How curious?
