You regularly mention that as if it's some kind of basis for accuracy, there less than a dozen regular members. That hardly makes it conclusive.
The fact there's so few regular posters here and at least half think you are thick is pretty damning no?Aren't you embarrassed?or are they all wrong and you are in fact, intelligent.

It's strangely boring for an Argento film, it may grow on me with subsequent viewings though.

Haha, it is decent but the pacing seemed a bit dodgy. The falling down the stairs death was great.

Robin Hood (1973): 3.5/5

Not Disney's best IMO but not bad at all, though some of the animal characters are a rip off from The Jungle Book. The Little John character is the real star IMO next to Robin, and is basically Baloo the bear (incidentally also voiced by Phil Harris) but a different colour. Prince John's lackey Sir Hiss (Terry-Thomas) is Kaa the snake, even mentioning he hypnotised someone at one point. Some sequences and backgrounds were apparently reused and there are some familiar actors (Peter Ustinov is perfect as John, and to me it sounded like John Feildler, the voice of Piglet in Winnie the Pooh, did one of the additional voices).
The songs are OK (especially the love theme, did this give someone ideas for The Lion King?), the Alan-A-Dale rooster character sounded a bit like Bob Dylan, and the opening tune "Whistle Stop" march recalled that bloody Hamster Dance from the 90's  :P
I never got the feeling Robin was in any real danger, the film lacks the pathos and sadness of earlier Disneys.

If you want to believe that, that's your business. It's a gross exaggeration at best and besides, this is an Internet forum. It's more like 2-3, hardly a lot of people. No one knows anyone. You've no idea how intelligent I am, nor do I you. To think you know someone based on online chat alone is laughable but as it makes you feel big, think of me as unintelligent.

So it's doesn't count because you've not heard of it. Right, okay. We've all got to start somewhere.

Correct I did but I still found a Mirror review. The rest is just splitting hairs.
bradavon wrote:thing is,you instigated this little spat by seemingly not liking my initial review and trying to be a smartarse in your retort.
I disagreed with your review if that's what you mean but I don't like or dislike, it's just a review. My smartarseness was in response to your smartarseness seeking out a review that validated your opinion.
Ivan Drago wrote:I mean, Brad, do you even LIKE asian films?
What on earth has that got to do with anything? I like films and own many Asian ones. Does that answer your bizarre question?
Ivan Drago wrote:And in this case, Wong Kar Wai and Crouching Tiger won't count.
Er. why don't they count? Wong Kar-Wai isn't even populist like CTHD is.
Do you just come here because DVD Times booted you? You sure do love picking apart statements and opinions of those who are much smarter, and more polite, then you.

I'm with Saltysam basically.

Pulp Fiction (1994-USA) **½

The most overrated film of its generation.

First segment is excellent, the rest ranges from rambling to terrible.

Hackers (1995) - 2.5/5

Silly but reasonably entertaining.

watched the south korean comedy

a perfect partner - directors cut

it was funny and filled with sex scenes, and the way they filmed it was brilliant.

honest Brad,it really isn't a gross exaggeration.

i admire your ability to turn a negative into a positive.i'd be embarrassed if i thought 2-3 people thought i was thick.

it doesn't make me feel big in the slightest.i never said you were unintelligent,i said you are stupid.big difference.don't see why you continue to take offence at my observation.

listen just because i think you are stupid doesn't mean i bid you any ill will.if you make a go of your endeavour then good on you.

The Killer Elite 2/5 Clunky thriller at least has a decent cast (De Niro/Clive Owen/Statham) and a couple of ok action sequences.

I've not seen it in years but remember it being great. I'm waiting for the BD to come back down to £6-7.

Well I guess that says a lot about you then. The world's population is roughly 7 billion and you'd get embarrassed 2-3 people you've never met think you're thick?

This forum has maybe 7-8 regular posters and you'd get embarrassed 2-3 of them you've never met think you're thick?

Code 46 (2003) - 4/5

Kind of like a cross between Gattaca and Lost in Translation, I really liked it and I'm surprised to see it's not very highly rated.

The Detonator (2006-UK-Romania) **

OK action vehicle for Wesley Snipes in which he plays an ex-CIA agent protecting a hot babe from some would-be terrorists. Snipes' ADR is performed by an impressionist ala Seagal.

The Last of Sheila (1973-USA) **½

Agatha Christie-like whodunit has clever twists a-plenty but the first third of the movie is tough to get through...

New Rose Hotel (1998) - 1.5/5

I was expecting a cool cyberpunk film, but what I got was a confusing, poorly-directed snoozefest of people talking, that repeated itself in the last half hour. Does Asia Argento get her tits out in every single film? Boarding Gate is way better.

Haha yeah I think she did in this film too

On the subject of William Gibson, I'm quite looking forward to Vincenzo Natali's adaptation of Neuromancer, Cypher has quite a good cyberpunk feel to it even though it's not fully one.

It's still only 2-3 people.

I'm really tempted thanks and even bid up to that amount on eBay but I've since bought a couple of other blu-rays and cannot afford it now. Thanks though.
