What! . Cheers Salty.

Given that the USA effort is Region Free (from Paramount) and I believe identical, I'll be getting that instead.

p.s - What are the English language formats please? I think it's PCM or DD5.1.

Just like Rambo. UK locked, USA unlocked. Utterly pointless.

Thanks Salty.

When the disc spec in both cases is equal (Rambo is virtually the same) and there is a region free offering I'm not really bothered. I can even play all regions but don't want a region locked disc if I can help it.

In the case of "There will be Blood" it's PCM on the UK Disney disc and Dolby TrueHD on USA Paramount disc but that's the only difference. As both are lossless audio they're audio transparent from each other.

Coming from Warner:-
Due to hit stores on September 2, the five titles include Eastwood's 'The Gauntlet' and 'Every Which Way But Loose,' the Schwarzenegger opus 'Eraser,' Seagal in 'Under Siege 2: Dark Territory,' and the sci-fi virus thriller 'Outbreak.

I'd probably get Eraser and Under Siege 2. Solid action films.

I honestly can say it all depends on one thing, how much better than the old dvds they look, as Blu Rays cost way to much to upgrade everything.

Under Seige 2 would be good if its a stonking transfer, but we will have to wait and see.

Still the good thing is the dvds are now so old that they are shocking transfers, so they should in theory be massive upgrades surley :D

Don't you ever upgrade BDs even if they look overall better but not excellent?

Depends on price and how much difference there is between the HD and my dvd I have now. And if the films even worth it.

I have upgraded few stunning looking Blu Rays as they cost way to much, but loads of HD DVD's as they are pretty much free.

If I were made of cash I would upgrade them all, but I have too many dvds , Blu Ray just costs far to much still. Esspecially when I can get a HD DVD for under £4 or even under £3.

Romero i've already said Under Siege 2 is a very good transfer  The Gauntlet dvd is shocking, the blu-ray will surely thrash the old dvd.Eraser dvd looked fine but i'll upgrade anyway.great film.

Well Brad considering you cannot even spot Stunt doubles, I wont go off anything you say picture wise  and you sit far to far away from your screen as well for HD :D

but seriously Most people on the net have no clue at all about picture anyway so I couldnt care less about many comments as frankly many people talk shit when it comes to HD picture, or sit so far away from their screen it means bugger all for HD.

You only have to look on some big sites to see apprently pro reviewers spouting bullshit they have no clue about and mistaking problems for what the film was suposed to look like! or even worse neglecting to talk about problems in the transfer which they dont see as they are blind! or even worse have shit screens.

So its got bugger all to do with who I believe, its that most people have no clue at all about picture quality. I am no expert, but I always see problems even if they are tiny, and pretty much know what is good and bad etc.. and dont mistake actual parts of the film that were suposed to be their and look like that as a bad transfer like many morons do.

But in the end the fact Under Siege 2 not even out in most normal countries on any HD format (its limited to 2 european countries which probibly put no effort into the transfer at all), its bound not to be the best it can be thats for sure.

I never go off one source on the net in regards to picture quality thats for sure as frankly only a loony would as some idiots slag off 5 star transfers and think they look shit, or give shit ones full marks, even for hilarious reasons becuase they aint got a clue.

Like it looks grainy, it must be shit, so I am a moron and mark it down a few stars as I think grain - bad, or compression, which is the new one which lights up the world with hilarity.

Optimum have announced Night of the Living Dead and Evil Dead 2 (also Basic Instinct, if anyone cares.).

Maybe their ED2 release won't be DNR'ed to hell like Anchor Bay's US BD reportedly has been.

Evil Dead 2 is pretty damn evil looking, the old 2000 Anchor Bay dvd is far far sharper. Pretty pathetic to even release such crappy transfer on any format.
