Miyazaki's latest is doing a theatrical run (at long last) in the UK and is showing in subbed and dubbed format. I of course opted for the original soundtrack.
I don't think that this is his best, but it's still a delight to watch. Howl's Moving Castle exhibits familiar Miyazaki qualities and is insanely abstract. I'd love to watch it again to discover further themes and messages that the filmmaker was trying to portray.
The storyline I felt was occasionally really loose, not fully explaining certain reasonings behind the characters' actions. The ending was far to abrupt, perhaps even overly-sentimental.
Still, it's a Ghibli - since when have they let anyone down? Anything Disney work on (even their strongest titles), Ghibli dwarf them in terms of richness, detail and beauty.
