Comparison between the 2003 Japanese DVD Memories, specifically focusing on Magnetic Rose, and Blu-ray, reissued in 2008. Bare in mind, while images are taken from their respective discs, playback's done via laptop, so image quality and resolution are not ideal. Furthermore, when archiving Blu-ray, due to a combination of DRM & my choice of software (PowerDVD 14), I'm unable to capture using physical media, but instead use 1:1 copies for comparison. Which means aforementioned examples lose some focus as a consequences, unlike DVD, whose images retain 100% intensity. Forgive the watermark (DVD); for whatever reason, step-by-step play for certain discs causes it to stick. Unlike Macross Plus & Cowboy Bebop for example, DVD's premier offers perfect picture when comparing identical regions, putting it in the same category as Rurouni Kenshin. Blu-ray mostly delivers on definition, but as is the case with all my purchases, color via DVD is the preferred choice, with #5 highlighting this fact wonderfully so.
