seriously they are such different film its imposable to compare them, but I adore the origanal for many reasons too many to list, but the remake is far slimmer and slicker and probibly way better for most normal people

I cannot say which is best really as they are just not alike at all.
I can see why the Remake got soo many 5 star reviews in the press as its just amazing, the orgianal on the other hand is shabby I guess and very ruff and ready, and cheap

but still a film I find very rewatchable.

The dub is actually very good on this Peggy sue, and don't start giving me all the bollocks about 'Theres no such thing as a good dub'...... you haven't seen it so naff off

..... and now you're going to say 'I wouldnt want to either'

Liked it so much I watched it again tonight and I'll definatly be pickin up the UK DVD when that bugger is out!

Why is it dubbed?
Not all dubs are bad, the Cantonese dub on "36th Chamber of Shaolin" is excellent for example.

Got mine from eThai.... £3.75 it cost and arrived within a week.

To be honest, I don't know why it's dubbed.... only got an Eng dub and Thai dub for some strange reason, but as I say, you can't complain for £3!

Definatly worth a watch too!

French! and yes all Dubs are bad1 as its not the real people speaking! thats why I hate some older asian films sometimes as its not the real people speaking at all! no matter how well its done, its wrong and its just irratating as hell to most people, and it should be against the law! subs or nothing if you ask me!

Crocodile Dundee in Lod Angeles mmmmmm 2.5 out of 5, seemed fine from what I kind of saw.

The Manchurian Candidate 3 out of 5

Well that was a great film, strangley made and disorientating at times and you could kind of guess what was coming. But still a good film with a few classy actors in some top roles doing some crazy acting and basically its an enjoyable romp and nice to see Liev in a star role, he is one underated star!

give him more films, like Phantoms!

Oh dear.. well, at least I can say I have "seen" this film....

Based on Henry Miller's (Tropic of Cancer, Tropic of Capricorn) explicit book, It looked like it was made with a budget of about £2.50, had a one-line plot (two guys going around Paris and Luxembourg always trying to get laid). Extremely notorious in 1970, the original English version (what we get here), was supposedly banned (when every English print was seized by the FBI) until 2003. Was the director Danish?

Maybe it would work better if I was more into exploitation cinema - its definitely very much a product of its time, so reflects the feeling/time of the late 60's. I couldnt get used to the score and soundtrack (a mix of accordians, and hippy country/acoustics?) and random speech bubbles (?) popping up everywhere.

There is quite a lot of explicit sex throughout the film (which is, ironically - not very sexy at all).

Country Joe's songs were quite funny though.

Ahhh wel I dont think I will ever bother with the origanl, it does get me wanting to see it, not even the cast

I am sure they are pretty much identical film and lots will be spoiled so to say. I will stick with the Denzel version for now and buy it on dvd when its cheap and chearfull in the future.

I saw this at the cinema. It was going along quite well but two major factors ended up making it a complete dud for me:

1. The fact that it ripped off [i]Texas Chainsaw[/i] so much... like 90% of the film.

2. The ending.... if you're going to have some clever twist, not only would it be clever to have at least some foreshadowing, but to at least make it congruous to earlier events in the film. Like, how did she get that truck then? The list goes on.... such a pity...

I haven't seen the remake, but the original is excellent. Another one to check out of Frankenheimer's is his 1966 film [i]Seconds[/i] with Rock Hudson - really well done and very creepy.

I thought the same, but didn't really think it ripped off Texas Chainsaw [i]that[/i] much, but a bloody good film though, may upgrade to the forthcoming R2 when that's out for the extras

Just watched em over 2 nights and I adore them both, the 1st is the quiet calm one of the pair with georgous sound and music and a great sence of alone and segrigation, and the camera work is classy too. Part 2 is just one hell of a ride, with over the top exciting events which explode before you, even a few dodgy CGI moments dont spoil it at all for me, and as a pair of films they compliment each other amazingly well and I pray to the Devil that BLADE TRINITY is as good as these 2! :D

As cheesy soft-porn flicks go (think Channel 5 on a Friday), the storyline for this one isnt too bad (surprisingly), and quite imaginative. Whoever said it was a "horror" film, needs his (or her) head seeing to, as the effects and attempts at scares are laughable. Obviously far too cheap to get quality make up and CGI morphing

It is a bit darker than normal flicks of this type though, so for that it has merit.
But by any standards other than its own, this is a really crap, cheesy film

The girl who played the main character, Jennifer, is quite nice though IMO.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the "underground cult" of people pretending to be vampires and stuff did actually happen (maybe still does) in America. I have heard reports of it.
