BBFC bans Human Centipede Sequel
Got to be honest, never had the slightest interest in seeing the first one but t was passed uncut i believe.the sequel has been banned outright though.Stupid in this day and age, will gain the film a notoriety it probably doesn't deserve.

Part of that article says A Serbian Film was banned, it wasn't. It was heavily cut but still shown.

Tom Six Says HUMAN CENTIPEDE 3 Will Make Banned Part 2 'Look Like A Disney Film'

I like this guy even though I have never seen any of his films
Which is funny, because more commonly he's hated by people who have never seen his films
Edit: and for those who just tuned in, me and Mark already declared each other as dangerous psychos and potential mass murderers, so save your breath and read the original discusions on the BBFC ban instead and if you don't have anything to add, then shut the fuck up

I don't hate him but neither do I have any interest in seeing these films.

More here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/oct ... sification
Some of the comments are rather absurd. "The BBFC have the duty to protect adults from themselves", gee thanks.
I've no problem with films being cut at 15 or lower rating, certainly 12A or lower (*) but at the 18 rating, they've really got no place telling me what I can and cannot see. Especially to ban it is ridiculous. Even more so in the days of downloads and "legal" imports from elsewhere.
If such a film was banned in many countries, they may have a point but it isn't. If the Dutch and Americans can stomach it, I'm sure we can too.
* As far as I know they're always offered an uncut rating at the next level upwards. So I blame the film studio here anyway.

And this on the back of them relaxing most of their censorship on Cannibal Holocaust, they really have no fucking clue at the moment it seems. Most of those cuts described sound utterly ridiculous!

Now the BBFC have granted it a certificate (albeit cut) the film is going to receive a lot more prurient public interest than it otherwise would have done. Nice job censors!

To compensate for their leniency they have now banned another movie:Markgway wrote:Now the BBFC have granted it a certificate (albeit cut) the film is going to receive a lot more prurient public interest than it otherwise would have done. Nice job censors!

Probably the director's victory... unlike A Serbian Film which was a well made thriller, or Human Centipede II which at least has an interesting premise, The Bunny Game does not (so far) have any other interest value or selling point than the BBFC ban, which will earn it many more viewers...

Bunny Game sounds like filth though...I've never seen one of those 'real sex' films, and I don't intend to (shame on you Michael Winterbottom)

Are any films banned by the BBFC still banned here? If not, these bans seem pointless. They're pointless anyway but you get my point.

I'll be damned. This will play in cinema right next door to me! Sadly, I'm sure the Japanese censorhip will hit the dicks and bushes if such are found in the film... might still give it a shot if fogging isn't too excessive.

Re: BBFC bans Human Centipede Sequel
JP Theatrical Print: Uncut, but optically censored in two scenes for the main character's dick (due to idiotic JP laws). It's a loss, but not enough reason to skip in theatrical distribution, though for home video fully uncensored edition would be the only logical choice (US BD, Nordic DVD, etc.).
The Human Centipede II: Full Sequence (Netherlands, 2011) – 3.5/5
Dutch genius Tom Six is managed quite censorship favorite with his centipede sequel. The self-ironic horror comedy, presented fully in black & white, follows a mentally disturbed Human Centipede fan who takes notes from Tom Six’s movie and attempts to re-create the fiction in real life. Only he’s no master surgeon, but a mere parking garage guard: the results are messy. Though initially a little bit too humoristic to be truly creepy, the film does manage a rather heart stopping finale that goes to the hall of fame of gore/nihilism cinema. The film is no great art, but has a bit of thought to it, comes with a strong leading performance, and, in fact, looks just a little bit elegant with its black & white cinematography.
On my way to the cinema I was worried I’d be sitting alone in front of the smallest screen. To my great delight the film was playing, at the local multiplex, on the biggest screen, with plenty of audience, including strong female participation. Beautiful! I still have faith in Japanese movie goers!
Oh, and “Movie Sickness Bag” came as a free bonus. Very thoughtful.
There's been quite a bit of effort put into the film's Japanese theatrical release. In addition to various chirashi and ads distributed in theaters, and the fore mentioned movie sickness bag, there's a number of different T-shirts and other fan products, even Human Centipede toilet paper!
