Am about 3/4 of the way through Violent Streets, and really enjoying it. More pulpy than I thought it would be, but nuthin' wrong with that.

Love the flamenco scenes in Noboru Ando's club, though not sure how he manages to keep the enterprise afloat - no one ever seems to be in the place!

The scene where Noboru and Bunta smash through the nightclub wall and (basically) kill everyone is too much. Also fun to see the older guy and transvestite team from Sister Street Fighter: Hanging By a Thread show up as a pair of assassins, and the older guy still has the macaw in tow(!).

He must've loved that bird...

Good news about The Wolves coming to French blu. The old R1 DVD is pretty lacking. One more reason I need to get a region-free blu-ray player sometime soon.

Film Movement has announced they will release Samurai Wolf 1&2 and Violent Streets on US BD. No release date yet. There's probably more Toei films on the way, since I don't think Toei does deals for just 3 films. More likely a pack of 10 or so titles.

I should also mention that Hitoriki was on Japanese TV a few months ago, in HD. It's also streaming on JP Amazon. Goyokin likewise is streaming on JP Amazon in HD. We really need these on BD by some distributor (they are not Toei titles, so don't expect them from Film Movement).

Eureka's Violent Streets BD release has been cut for animal cruelty by BBFC.

I assume it's the chicken farm gun fight at the end. There's a long horizontal scrolling shot featuring dozens if not a hundred of chicken, a few of which "explode" as they are caught in the line of fire.

I'm not sure if there may be other cuts.

Cuts report on Violent Streets
https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=204054

Turns out its four cuts totalling to 11 seconds.

Note that only two of the four cuts come during the dolly shot. The other two come already a few minutes earlier.
