I must admit that I'm no fan of Empire magazine, but in Kim Newman's column he reviewed this and his statement was something like :
"Imagine that Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers were followed 20 years later by Hawk the Slayer and you'll know how this trilogy turned out.". Such a shame as Suspiria and Inferno are masterpieces of mood and cinematography IMHO. Admittedly, my favourite is 'Deep Red'.
I'm a huge fan of Argento (was extremely disappointed that I had to miss when he came to London for a screening of this), and even enjoyed some of the more recent stuff ('Do you Like Hitchcock' for example), but this sounds absolutely awful !
I appreciate that there are a few people on bullets who aren't fans of Argento !

No wonder I couldn't see this thread... it's in the wrong forum!!
It's impossible to tell a movie from a trailer... I thought it looked intriguing. Mind you The Card Player is the only Argento movie I've liked since Trauma so my expectations are kept at a minimum.
I preferred Suspiria to Inferno, myself, though my taste tends toward Giallo (Tenebrae being my favourite) rather than fantasy-horror.
Sam, did you watch the rip? Opinion, please...
