it's not the briefcase release.that's much pricier, herebradavon wrote:It's also £18 before postage remember, so you'll be fine. It's only £13.72 before postage so well under the customs limit.
Amazing price thanks Salty for an amazing film. To confirm though this is the 5 Disc Set but not the pointless (IMO) LE briefcase? I ask as the News Article over at DVD Active says it will be 4 discs OR 5 Discs with the briefcase.
I definitely want all the discs but not the briefcase. What is Amazon's track record for bumping the price after release date? I really shouldn't buy this until I have a HD Player but I am definitely tempted. Presuming it is 5 discs but no briefcase I reckon I'll go for it.

Cheers Salty. You're right, Amazon are known too for suddenly increasing the price of their on offer items.
What is Warners track record for adding regional coding to their BD discs, any ideas? It's likely I'll be getting a USA BD Player but as I don't actually have one I cannot say for sure. Still by the 18th of December I should.
Why did you opt for the BD over HD-DVD?
p.s - It certainly looks like to get the fifth disc in the DVD version you have to get the briefcase. On HD you can get the 5 disc set with or without it, but not DVD!

Sweet, nice one then. If the discs are equal and the BD isn't region coded I'd always go with the BD. I still think it's way more future safe. If the BD is region coded it's a bit more tricky.
I'm planning to get Dreamgirls HD-DVD though as the DD Plus is 1.5Mb but the BD DD Plus is only 640Kbps, they're otherwise equal. Both have stella transfers (even though the BD uses MPEG2).

You have to search for them.

It's a 5 disc HD Set I think it's pretty safe to assume the lot is in HD, there's no need for 5 discs if the extras are SD. So do you have an HD-DVD player? I thought you were going to get a BD Player?romerojpg wrote:I will get the HD DVD version, but how many cuts of one film can I takeone is enuff, hopefully the extras are solid and in HD!
It is crazy though I know, 5 cuts madness

Thats a sodding bargain thats for sure. but With vouchers and Quidco I am sure it will be cheaper somewhere, unless thats a misprice? seems very cheap to me, esspecially for al 3!
Wonder if its got the exta dvds or not etc.. still if thats the standard price, its a bargain and a half. I paid £40+ for the standard trilogy set, as I got stung by customs!

The Trilogy box set has the second disc extras for each movie. I've heard reports it's both a 6 disc and 3 disc double sided set, so which it actually is I am unsure.
It would be hard to sell the sequels on unless they're separate keep cases. Obviously The Matrix will still be cut.
Unlike Blade Runner this is not one I am in any rush to pick up, especially not before I can play HD. As good as The Matrix is it's not in the same league as Blade Runner.
