Hong Kong Legends have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Fist of Fury: Platinum Edition for 9th January 2006 priced at £19.99. Often regarded by many fans as their favourite Bruce Lee movie, FIST OF FURY is Lee at his most raw and passionate. Now the film is presented from a brand new high-definition master that showcases this striking action masterpiece like never before, complete with its original Mandarin soundtrack.

The film is presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic taken from a brand new high-definition master. Audio options are Dolby Digital 5.1 (Cantonese and English) and original Mandarin mono track. Extra features include:

Is King of Beggars any good? I havent seen any Chow beyond these:

King of Beggars is extremely good.
One of his best works ever.

@Grim: If your looking for more Chow, I recommend:

-King of Comedy. His most personal film, + Cecilia Cheung first big role.
-God of Cookery. Possibly his funniest.
-A Chinese Odyssey. Parody of Ashes of Time. His craziest movie.
-Tricky Brains. Extremely underrated. The interaction between Chow, Ng Man-Tat, Andy Lau, Rosamund Kwan and Chingmy Yau is excellent.
-Forbidden City Cop. Kind of a medieval follow-up to From Bejjing With Love.
-Sixty Million Dollar Man. Just to see Chow turn into a toilet bowl.

-Flirting Scholar. Typical crazy Chowesque comedy.
-Love on Delivery.
-Out of the Dark.
-Royal Tramp 1 & 2.
-Fight Back To School.

The above list is IMHO Chow's best movies.

What? It isnt a parody of Ashes of Time at all...
it's a re-telling of the classic tale of the Monkey King. It consists of 2 movies, namely pandorra's box and A Cinderella* and it's a pretty good movie...

Personally, I really like Shaolin Socer and Kung Fu Hustle as well, although the latter movie was a bit too straightforward for my liking plus it didnt ahve enough Stephen Chow in it...

It IS a parody of Ashes of Time.

Watch the two side by side and you'll see it.

Chow took the visual style, the action and most of the characters and adapted the story of the Monkey King with it.

Have you noticed that the schizophrenic immortal is named Lin QinXia (=Brigitte Lin)

It is?? damn... might have missed the visual style by seeing it on a crappy VCD... also didnt notice the name cause a: I don;t know the chinese name of Brigitte Lin and b: I hardly ever pay attention to the names in movies anyway... which can make folowwing the plot quite complicated, I know

I have seen the movie a couple of times though, so pretty weird it never struck me as a parody on ashes of time. Next time I'll watch it (whenever that is, since I dont have the dvd version) I'll pay more attention

The German R2 looks like it chocker with edge enhancement, funny I never normally notice it.

That said people like this do get films seen, they have lots of clout.

I'd much rather Hero was shown in the original soundtrack with a "Tarantino presents" tag than no tag but English dub only.

Nothing, so he should get his ugly banana chin off the front cover. I don't blame Ratner for agreeing to an interview. From his POV he's done nothing wrong... but WTF are HKL thinking of? Could they track down Lola Forner? That would've been cool.

Hmmm... Lola.... she looked sweet as pie in that movie

...although, seeing her again after all these years, could kinda ruin the fantasy...
Wouldn't surprise me at all if she gained 100 pounds by having 6 kids and making pasta with meatballs every night...
But back then, yeah, gorgeous...

Brett Ratner: Not really interested in anything he would have to say, unless it would be an apology.
He has absolutely nothing to do with this movie so I'm kinda clueless as to what he's doing on this disc... but hey, who knows... maybe he'll have something interesting to say, so I won't completely condemn him yet...
