Don't put words I didn't say into my mouth. Distant distant relative on the other side of the world that I would've never met. I am concerned about being that way, but it's the truth.

Also my paternal uncle (dad's brother) pasted away last year of natural causes IIRC (he was in his 70's). Never met him and I didn't feel anything, I'm sad to say.

Why would you feel anything about people you don't even know ?

One of my grandfathers died 2 years ago (never met him), didn't care at all.
Only care about the big bag of ca$h he left behind. Greedy bastard !

I meant both. You frequently make posts about all the terrible things America has done in the Middle East, which is valid, but never anything which might possibly make a Muslim look bad. Not once have I found an article or link which blames Muslims for anything in one of your posts. You're a lot more one-sided than I am. I don't deny the sins of war (most recently reported: the US massacre of innocent villagers in Iraq including women and children). Yet when the violence is against the west or western soldiers/people I hear a lot of "they had it coming" and "it wasn't Muslims" talk. Anything that shifts the blame. You say that there's nothing wrong with the Mario animation, but nearly shat a brick over the comparitively mild 'Mohammed' cartoons. Is a slight against Mohammed much worse than insulting the memories of a thousand ordinary victims of terrorism with cheap jokes.

you know something....you guys will NEVER agree, your both different opinions, and both strong willed, so what the hell is th point in dragging this up again and again....

actually by now, this has become not fun anymore, quite the opposite, i dunno how others feel but its become quite boring.

and maybe the fact that all over the news in every which way you turn is news about the atrocities against the white people, never the atrocities against the middle east and stuff, just open the paper "5 us/uk soldiers killed" "2 us soldiers die in bomb blasts" etc. etc. never "30 iraqi civilains die in US shoot out again insurgents" or "20 civilians dead after bomb blast" you can hardly call the news fair and equal. is why LD posts about the muslim rather than the west, and i cant balme him for that. if i watched the mainstream news i'd think that the west was great but i know far from different about that now, thankfully.

the sooner people realize that its not about sides and whos better and start working together to stop the madness of the governments... the sooner this damn craphole of a civilization will redeem itself and then maybe people wont die pointless deaths for the sake of a few big headed people in power...

altugh maybe it will be a good thing if we eventually blow the shit out of each other so much we actually destory ourselves then maybe the world can return itself to its former glory, free from evil humans who have no regard for life....

ok im gone now, back to watchign the show...i found the popcorn now

Fair point Shen, this has been gone over again and again.
That Mario animation is either tasteless or VERY dark humor (or both? I feel dirty for seeing humor in it, all I did was remember the game so I'm sorry for that) remember what Yi said, better that some guy makes an animation/sandcastle/whatever then actually goes out and joins al-qaeda.
Anyway lets talk about something else :D

Nonsense. The massacre in Iraq was all over the UK and US news. There's frequent reports of violence against Iraqis. Remember the tortured prisoners scandal? What news do you watch Shen? Newsround doesn't count.

haha newsround... very droll...not...

the ratio of US violence reported against Civilan violence in iraq is very unbalanced...if a soldier is injured or killed and a civilian injuered or killed the solider is around 7 times more likley to be reported than the civilian..

the tortured prisoners and such are too big of a story not to cover, to not report this would mean that the public owuld probably realize that the cover up is great and it also gives the very flimsy illusion that the media reports equally.

look at the massacre of innocents (or one of them atleast) by the US soliders it happened in the november it took until atleast feb/march for it to be reported...does that seem fair and balanced? is it fair and balanced that you have in the news western soldiers BRAGGING about killing 30+ "insurgents" with just knives. and that they were again bragging about killing a large number of insurgents by air? how the hell they could know that the hundreds of people (IIRC) they killed were insurgents....the media ocasionally report on the iraqi civilians plights to create an illusion of fairness.

all these are to name but a few examples of the biased reporting of the so called "news"

and in answer to what news i watch, i try to catch news broadcasts, on both UK, USA and German tv (dw-tv yay). besides that also the china news too...since sky has alot of news channels its not so hard to find stuff. also reading the sun everyday, though its a farcical, biased paper like most, i occasionally buy other papers if a story catches my attention, or i will sit in the book store and read the different papers. As well as these mainstream news i read alot of alternative news sites...so i think my research is pretty thoroughly founded...also your comment about newsround implies you find my age an issue in what i say, yes?

That spot on Gorbachev's head? Herpes, trust me...

I have to agree with Mark's assessment of the news, insofar as the recent findings regarding the Haditha killings. However, it's not all smiles and sunshine. The flipside to this is that the information wasn't picked up when it happened, which was in November, despite a reporter filming the bodies the day after it occured, and passing it through the local channels. This has only gained a certain amount of publicity after a US combatant was traumatised after seeing the massacre.
Which means that the news is being edited to a certain extent, which for me, is the far greater issue and the overarching theme (tell me if I'm wrong) of what Shen was talking about.

And as for your last comment Mark, for shame. A bit below the belt. (And that's not an answer, you mucky buggers!)

edit: OK, I started my reply after reading Mark's herpes comment. Shen's talked about what I was talking about, so sorry, same info provided twice :)

I'm the reason there is no more USSR. Blackmail, my boy, is a wonderful thing.

Welll, either that, or I'm quoting from The Simpsons. I forget which :)

I saw a headline in a British newspaper today.

It read "Pregnant woman shot dead by US soldiers"

From The Guardian, perhaps?

No, that 'right-wing, towel-head hating rag' The Daily Mail.

I think I've made my point.
also your comment about newsround implies you find my age an issue in what i say, yes?
Nah, it's just most teenagers are know it alls without having done anything. Nothing personal.

LOL honestly,

shooting and killing pregnant woman this is an abominible thing (as is shooting and killing anyone IMO), is there any suprise that its reported? you are completly missing my point here, a few reports of dead iraqi civilians does not make the news balanced like sooooo many people seem to think.

i somehow wonder how stupid people must be to think we actually have a free and unbiased media service...

and actually this one report does not confirm your point IMO since its one report, now if you tell me you see this everyday, that us soldiers shoot this person, or kill that person, then maybe i would accept your point, but your evidence is weak and flawed, sicne there is no such thing as a free media, just do some background research into who actually owns these newspapers and what they control elsewhere, and tell me we have a free media. i am likely to laugh in your face.

if i am correct the daily mail is owned by the daily mail and general trust plc which if you actually search they own a good 30-40 other news papers... so im really sure that that gonna be a free distribution of ideas?

but also i cant be arsed with repeating myself numerous times, the same is true of me and you as is of you and LD, we both have different opinions and threfore will never agree...so i bow out now, im too lazy to keep looking up my research again to make sure i put correct details down

@68

sorry but i did not find his comment at all called for, it was rude, offensive and irrelevant to anything, yeah this is the enything goes section,
*edit* mark apologized so its ok now.

Wow, I had no idea that I, as an American citizen and registered Democrat, personally taught Bin Laden all that he knew.

Did my government help create the monster Bin Laden, a man who has twisted the teachings of the Koran and helped make a nonviolent religion like Islam look like a barbaric murder cult in many Westerners' eyes? Hard to deny it, when looking at Bin Laden's history with the U.S. Yet did any of the 2,700+ civilians who died in 9/11 bear personal responsibility for the history between their governments and Bin Laden? Of course not.

I really don't care what you post here at BnB, because hey . . . it's BnB. Anybody who tries to take anything posted here seriously should know better. But Phil, I feel I should tell you that your broad callous statements only serve to make you look really immature and inexperienced.
