No, tried watching it a couple of times, but couldn't get into it.

Not that I REALLY gave it a chance to be honest.

I was initially like that with some of the Westerns (OUATITW, TGTBATU) TBH.

Flash Point 3.5/5

very good recent hk actioner, Donnie Yen plays a cop not disimilar to the one he played in SPL. starts off slowly with not a lot of action in the first 50 minutes or so but when Donnie goes to war in the laast half hour it's exciting stuff indeed

Domino 3.5/5

Not the piee of crap I was expecting! Wouold have been a bit better still if Keira Nightly wasn't so annoying! Or at least her accent is... And she seemed to have more in the breast department when you saw them in her sex scene too... surprises all round!

Decent film. Quite a bit of action. Was pleasantly surprised.

Grim: I have OUATIA but haven't watched it yet. I will one day. It looks excellent. Godfather 1-2 are very slow but I managed to watch them.

grim_tales · Post by **grim_tales** » 02 Sep 2007, 15:12

The score and music in OUATIA is excellent.

It "Looks"

you crack me up.

Its a piece of shit by the way, and doesnt look good at all. Another Deneroy wankfest.

It's De Niro.
And why, pray tell is what Brad said funny?

Maybe because it's an old film and doesn't look excellent, maybe Romero was taking what I said literally.

Who knows strange things are funny in Romero's world

Pray tell

Those laughing smileys appear strangely hypnotic after a while 8)

Shingster · Post by **Shingster** » 02 Sep 2007, 16:30

Yeah OUATIA looks crap, nothing compared to the sinematografi of Resident Evil or Versus.

romerojpg · Post by **romerojpg** » 02 Sep 2007, 16:47

hilarious.

Knetan · Post by **Knetan** » 02 Sep 2007, 17:19

hey,

The Wedding Days 3/5

Pleasant enough UFO comedy kept bouyant by debut director James Yuen's assured direction and his stars (in particular Jordan Chan)

Lourdes · Post by **Lourdes** » 02 Sep 2007, 19:04

OUATIA is fairly craptacular.

The Day of the Jackal
A reasonably solid film, helped by being made from a decent piece of writing. Bit too long though.

The Jackal
What is this shit? Horrible, horrible film.

Bottle Rocket
I can't help but like Wes Anderson films. There's so much to hate including the fact that he keeps making the same movie and he is presumably an arrogant shite [although I don't even know what he looks like]. But still, I like his films well enough.

grim_tales · Post by **grim_tales** » 02 Sep 2007, 19:08

OUATIA is long maybe, but certainly not craptacular.

Now that is funny

The Simpsons Movie: 2.5/5

It was very good at times, but also lost pace, and it just seemed a bit unrealistic etc at times, even for The Simpsons. The town's reaction towards The Simpons etc...

I dont know, it made me laugh a lot, cause obviously it just has a lot of good jokes in it. But TBH it never really was better than the TV show, and it just wasnt all that interesting. Lisa's love-interest? Meh. Marge and Homer in a crisis? I didnt buy that. Bart suddenly dumping his dad in favour for Flanders? Come on now.

Just a mediocre movie given the huge talent involved. Which makes it very hard to rate.
Cause even a Simpsons movie which isnt quite as good as the TV show, and has a mediocre story etc... is still funnier than 90% of the comedy-movies out there.
A shame really. I feel they could do so much great stuff with the Simpsons' license.

Anyway, 2.5 outta 5 it stays.

grim_tales · Post by **grim_tales** » 03 Sep 2007, 07:12

I agree with you about Lisa's love interest, it was just dull.
Marge and Homer in a crisis has been done so many times before, just on a smaller scale. I definitely bought that, and also Bart feeling ignored by Homer (don't you remember the "Bigger Brothers" episode?)

Dangermouse (first few eps): 4/5

Ahh.. nostalgia! Fun spy spoof with lots of silly jokes/puns throughout.

I would shout at you all for not using spoiler tags, but I really couldn't care less about The Simpsons Movie.

Pitch Black - 3.5/5
Good sci-fi thriller. Its been ages since I last saw it, and I think I enjoyed it this time more than the last...

The Chronicles Of Riddick - 3/5
Pretty good action sequel. Doesn't have much to do with the first film but I enjoyed it a lot more than similar sci-fi action films (e.g. Star Wars episodes 1 to 3).

The Fugitive - 4.5/5
Still an absolute classic thriller. Both Harrison Ford & Tommy Lee Jones are excellent in this.

EvaUnit02 · Post by **EvaUnit02** » 03 Sep 2007, 10:51

I bought the Riddick DC for like £2, because the game is awesome (which they're remaking for 360/PS3! 8)). I've yet to watch it, I hope that the movie ain't as bad as everyone says it is.

IronMonkey · Post by **IronMonkey** » 03 Sep 2007, 11:06

I had avoided it for a long time, but having just watched it a couple of days ago, I can safely say I've seen a LOT worse than this film. I'll have to try to pick up the remake of Chronicles Of Riddick for XBox 360 when it comes out. I missed out on getting it for the original XBox & I'm pretty sure I'd have trouble finding a new copy now...

I also paid £2 for the DC, from Woolworths!
