Definitely.
The UK Tartan SD DVD "box set version" is definitely still the best English friendly version (R3 Korean Remastered has no English subs). Annoyingly the separate release is still the Mandarin dub version:

Got my copies of the Australian release of House of Flying Daggers and Fearless yesterday... both are the French releases, which means for HOFD, it's the fully uncut version.
Only problem is - it's still got some fairly dodgy video quality, with that horrible telecine wobble still prevalent throughout.
On Ip Man, I'd love to get the Blu-ray, but it's way too expensive for my taste (and now apparently Region locked, which ends that option anyway).
Hopefully a Western distributor picks up the rights and releases it on Blu-ray too.

Not sure about England, but didnt import-customs loosen up a whole lot since last fall!? Shouldnt cause any problems if it's under 100 pounds.gasteropod wrote:Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get Akira Blu-ray whilst avoiding the wrath of customs?
Thanks.
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...
