Moderately engrossing thriller starring Bruce Willis. He's good, but there's something about the way action films are made these days which doesn't click with me.

The Secret of My Success - 3/5
Likeable 80s comedy starring the underrated Michael J. Fox. Needs a few more laughs though.

The Running Man - 3/5
Clever satire seems more real than ever today. But action is too mechanical with almost no style or flair, plus Steven DeSouza's a terrible screenwriter. In better hands this could have been great. Arnie is Arnie, Richard Dawson steals the show as the host, and Maria Conchita Alonso is hotter here than in Predator 2.

While it isn't as good as season 1 or maybe another one too, it is still damn good entertainment.

The amount that can happen in 24 hours is getting a tad ridiculous though! And how come in 24 hours jack doesn't need to eat, drink or go to the toilet?!?!

haha, yeah. There isn't gonna be anything as exciting in theaters in years to come so what the hell.

Season 4 was ok. Season 5 was total bullshit. I'm at episode 14 of Season 6 and it is a vast improvement over season 5 so far.

The finale of season 5 was great, though. The best thing about the whole season with a big ass cliffhanger. Would have been great if season 6 would have been about Jack trying to escape from the Chinese prison.

I thought 24 season 5 was superb... maybe the second or third best season...

Weakest so far is 4 (imo - not seen 6).

Seasons 5 and 6 are completely intolerable, I just cannot watch them at all. 4 is almost as bad, 3 is okay but the plot is just too stupid. 1 & 2 are the only ones I now own.

I think the reason so few people are talking about 'Until Death' is because it's not been released in the UK yet.

It has been passed by the BBFC as an uncut '15'.

The strange thing is that it's been submitted by TWO different distributors with TWO different lengths!

Romantic drama with 1997 concerns but ends up being just a slightly better acted soap opera. Emil Chow stars as a husband who's forced to stay in HK to further his career while the wife (Cecilia Yip) moves to Canada. He engages in an affair with his new boss played by Christy Chung. Many pieces don't fit, including the romance angle between Chow and Chung.

Hmmm... a 15? Can't believe that unless they really submitted a 6-minutes shorter version. I watched the 102 minutes version and it has some really brutal moments which knowing the BBFC policies would definitely get an 18 rating.

Very enjoyable Shaw Brothers film. Some storytelling was rudiculous, like the bad guy accidentally confessing in front of everybody saying to Cheng Pei-pei, "You couldn't have noticed my face back then. I was wearing a mask."

WTF?

BTW, is the Mandarin soundtrack on the IVL disc kinda messed up in terms of music and sound effects?

If it's 5.1 remix then yes. I don't have the film myself.

I noticed that something must be wrong, because the old German dub they used has a different music and different sound effects than the Mandarin track has. So one of the two tracks is edited and wrong.

I'm afraid I don't know which, but it could easily be the Mandarin track if it's remixed. If it's original mono, then it could be the German dub? You'd have to check.
