Sam, I'm talking about the International aka Unrated version of the film. The US DVD had dubtitles, the UK release subtitles.

I'm pretty sure Salty got that
. I did.
The "unrated" version is exactly the same as the Asian versions released.
Wrong.

I'd wait until both Chungking BDs are released and we've got comparisons. Criterion may've fucked with the colours.
P.S. Cheers for the post, Brad.

Good point.
I am mainly waiting as the Criterion is as expected expensive and the UK BD is probably going to be cheaper. That and it would be nice to have matching CE/AOTR covers.
That's another good reason to wait though.

The Criterion looks okay but not up to the standard of my Korean SE, it's a pity that's not included too.
The Zatoichi BD looks good to me. It's never going to look great, it's dodgy look is partly intentional.

I mean appart from the sharpness it looks inferior to the two dvds.

Colours look more vibrant too, although agreed it's not a WOW HD transfer.

Criterion Chungking Blu-ray looks like an excellent transfer. Colours look right to me, but I guess we'll have to wait what people who remember its theatrical presentation have to say first.

Hah. They added BD caps today after I posted the link.
Damn, that transfer looks great. Now I have two titles to buy when I go Blu (the first being Miami Vice).

Shame Criterion insist on Region A encoding. Talk about shooting themselves in the foot when there's a whole market of European buyers just waiting to get their product. [/Stringer Bell mode]

Thanks Hung. I cannot see much difference. I'm waiting though, in case AE beats it.
Yeah that is dumb. Thankfully I can play all regions.

Are the subs on SPL, Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon, and Fatal Move the same as the HK DVD's? I notice they're all region free.
So the BD of Seven Swords is a shorter cut than on the 3 disc HK DVD set?

Surely they would be, no? Or are you just making sure.

Sorry Brad, my bad. I should have quoted one of the posts about a Zatoichi BD.

Is there an image comparison between the USA and HK BDs?
I finally saw this tonight, bloody fantastic, easily Jet Li's best. The scenes with Moon were so touching and the action was excellent too. I know about Tom's posts but what were the major cuts to the Non-DC cuts? I've only seen the DC and wouldn't want to cut anything.
