-When the farmer punches Sing in the stomach, the blood-spitting shot is removed.
-After the beast has buried Sing in the ground, you can see blood dripping from his fist.
-When Yuen Wah receives the flower pot on his head, there's blood on the floor.

The R1 removes about 10 shots I'd say.

weird they would cut this as it's r-rated anyway

running both shows the region 1 runs around 35 seconds shorter however the columbia/star opening logos on the region 3 run longer than the basic sony classics logo on the region 1. interestingly the moving menus on the region 1 include a shot of chow spitting blood after getting the stomach punch from the farmer.

just had a look at the the scene with the farmer yes the quick shot of blood has been digitally removed yet it's in the moving menu

utterly bizarre to cut a movie that would have got an r with or without blood.i'll keep the region 1 for the extras so it's not a total loss.

Good question Mark, anyone? For DTS alone I'd prefer the UK DVD over the HK 2 Disc SE.

That sounds like a cut for the sake of a cut. Speaking of cuts as it's still R rated why make these cuts?

dvdcompare says the region 2 uk is uncut? can anyone confirm this is correct?i'm surprised i thought sony would have been using the region 1 print.

I rented the R2 many weeks back and I'm pretty such that the cut footage was present. I definately remember Chow spitting blood over the old lady's face.
