50p HDMI as good as a £20, your wasting your cash. As long as the band width etc,, is the same.

Bandwidth?

I'd never buy a 50p cable as it may not be made well, not for the reason you mean but because it may break. I'd spend £10-15, that's a good price.

Bandwidth, speed etc.. dont care about the exact terms as I have mine.

As long as its ok made it doesnt matter at all how much you spend. 1p or £300 like some morons delude themself into thining is the best. So no £10-15 is not a good price at all, if the exact same cable is available for 50p.

Clearly it wouldn't be

Where did you read Bandwidth was a factor on HDMI?

He's right, HDMI v.1.3 cables will do 10.4GBps (I think, from memory!) to get the full 1080p info across from the HD source to the TV set. He's also right in that there is no difference between cheap & expensive HDMIs. They both transfer the same zeros & ones to the receiving device.

I know. That's not what I meant. A 50p cable won't be "exactly" the same as a £15 cable. Think about it ;)

I'd have my doubts a 50p cable would last. That doesn't mean I'd buy a uber expensive one.

How would it not last? do you move your cable around every few minutes and wear it out? :D mine is plugged in my TV and player, it neevr moves and may come out and be moved a few times ever. So even the cheap ones will last, its not like they will rust and melt :D

The cheap ones are usually exactly what they need to work, black and 2 HDMI things, one on each end :) the slightly more cash ones are better looking ussually, maybe more robust and nice, but hey if you want basic it does not hurt. I do not see my cable so it does not matter much at all either way.

The people who pay many hundreds for a metre long HDMI are truley crazy to me, you can get them for massive amounts of cash as well and they still sell. Insane.

I got a few new HD titles latley as well, Troy (directors Cut new disc) HD DVD is staggering! maybe one of the best HD titles ever seen, the color is mind blowing! never seen anything like it before, showcase disc easy.

The films also a lot better, it pisses all over Kingdom of heaven and Alexander by a lightyear now! both of which suck looking back on em now.

I've just watched my new Kung Fu Hustle Blu-ray and it was really great. I wasn't expecting the picture quality to be so nice. It's got a smooth, cinematic look to it, and it's always a pleasure reading subtitles in high definition because they look so clear haha. I can confirm that the UK version is uncut, and is superior to the US one in another way as well: The US one only has Cantonese in PCM 5.1, so if you can't play that properly then you'll be listening to it in stereo. Not so with the UK one. There's a Cantonese DD 5.1 as well! Well chuffed to discover that :D

Everyone buy it! (The UK Blu-ray  )

What numpties for only including PCM. All HD Discs should have a backwards compatible 5.1 soundtrack plus a lossless 5.1 soundtrack.

Technically they did, since there's an English DD 5.1, but obviously we're not interested in that.

Exactly. That may as well be a Swahili DD5.1 soundtrack for all I care about it.

It has to be the worst film ever made, yet you've never seen it and are basing your opinion on a trailer and word of mouth. Just what you get pissed at me for doing ;)
