Also, I heard the Ekdo version is cut. Can anyone confirm this?

Ricky has it above and says the Edko is cut.

As for the Premier Asia I hear the extras aren't great but then I don't think they look too good on the R1. The R1 also has the USA Cut (AFAIK the only place to cut it further) which I don't like the sound off, just my opinion though.

To my observation, the Edko disc snips literally seconds of limb breaks near the end of the film to avoid the CATIII rating that Ong-bak got.

Okay cover, I've certainly seen much worse.

Very nice artwork. Almost too good for the movie IMO. Remember the good ol' days when Miramax simply took 1 Jet Li photo and turned it into cover arts for all Fist of Legend, The Enforcer and Twin Warriors? LOL! I'm glad those days are gone and we can finally have decent cover art for once.

Is it just me, or does Leon Lai look a lot like Jet Li on that cover ?

Sam Hui in swordsman.

I will only buy this if they include the "all 3 movies into 1 cut"-version that could be found on the limited HK edition.

Not likely to happen, though...

Just buy the 5-hour sequential cut from DDDhouse.

It's back in stock cool. I bought it a while ago. It was only something like £8 for just the 2 disc sequential cut.

I've never seen it anywhere else though.

3-4 years ago I would too but I've owned the UK + HK DVDs for so long now I'm done with these films.

Unless DD pull something out of the bag to make them special which I doubt. We already know IA will just be new cover art and that's not as good as the Tartan for starters (no commentary).

It is guaranteed to have better coverart than any of the Tartans though. :D

The IA and IA3 cover arts are okay IMO. Those DD cover arts up at DVD Active aren't anything special.

It's only Tartan's IA2 which is so bad.

Hey Salty, it's much appreciated you posting links to Davisdvd. But could you please copy & paste the news items/make local copies of artwork here? The nature of davisdvd links is that they're not static and new info is amended to the same page. Eg if someone visits the a week after the news item is posted, then it's highly likely that it's moved to the bottom of the page/to the archives.

Fingers crossed that that Tardis Brian White doesn't crop the transfer to 1.78:1 and then stretch it to 2.35:1 like he did with the HKL PS2.

Brad, is the IA 5-hour sequential cut anamorphic, have English subs and DTS?

Oh great, Jackie's in a plain black T-shirt holding a gun again! Now photoshop in two hot chicks who aren't even in the movie and you have a solid Miramax release!

What is it with that black shirt and R1 covers???

LOL really I never saw it.
EvaUnit02 wrote:Brad, is the IA 5-hour sequential cut anamorphic, have English subs and DTS?
Spread across 2 discs
Anamorphic 2.35:1 WS
Cantonese DD5.1 or DTS
Mandarin DD5.1 Dub
English or Chinese subtitles
No extras

If you've seen any of the HK IA DVDs you know what to expect AV wise. It's a decent transfer.

Revenge of the Black T-Shirt?

Lol, I mean, how hard is it to find artwork from Police Story 2?

There's a ton of it.

And a Brett Ratner quote?

This man's overexposure is seriously getting on my tits!
