3 years to build up the equipment and renovate a few things. The bar came with the house and so did the shuffle board.

The DVDs have been building since 2001.

Thanks for your "Dude" comment guys.

That's beautiful, man. :D

You've got the Treehouse of Horror Homer! Bah! I've been looking for that in stores for months! Really love the whole set-up man. It's classy and awesome. The personalized shelves are especially nice!

captainjoe I raise my cap to you :D classy looking set up, wish I could have that much room to do my set up. Yours look nice and bright and well thought out. I assume as its a basement you can stick the sound on as loud as you like and none can hear for miles

I always see the Couch Gag Simpsons set, but never the Treehouse one. Always bums me out.

One day. It will be mine. Oh yes. It will be.

Did a little sight seeing yesterday - tried to make use of the sunny weather. Firstly, our cherry blossom tree was in full bloom. You can only see it like this for two weeks of the year. Luckily we have another one, which blooms later.

Next we went to the "Peel Ring of Lumphanan" - which is an earthly mound that used to support a fortified residence. I believe it was built in the 13th century. There's not much left but the base still has a path leading upwards.

Also, contrary to Shakespeare's play - Macbeth was killed and burried in Lumphanan (not at this fortified residence, but somewhere in the village). Obviously he was killed before the peel ring was built.

We then went to the Culsh Souterrain, which was the most impossible thing to find ever. Even with the sign next to it, the site is very much hidden. It's basically a hole in the ground, which the Romans used to store food and supplies. The entrance is tiny but inside it's very much spacious. I could stand up comfortably and the tunnel was a good 14m long. Only thing though is that it's pitch black. You need a torch to go inside.

Finally we went to the Tomnaverie Stone Circle - a 4500 year old site that was used to cremate the dead. I think they built it to cooncide with the lunar path or something. Can anyone spot the smiley face below? :D

Thanks for sharing those, Bisc! What an incredibly beautiful tree. :) My dogwood is in full bloom now, but nothing can compare to the beauty of cherry blossoms.

I also enjoyed seeing the photo tour of some medieval and prehistoric sites of your corner of the world. Thanks!

Nice little adventure Bisc :) is that far from where you live then? and how did you know they were there are there notices with information on them?

I have seen some tunnels like that, but they were so dark I was just plane scared to go in them more than a few feet :D creepy places tunnels I wouldnt think twice about getting in them when I was young mind you.

We have loads of things like that around ours as we are kind of in the middle of the countryside so to say, you can find things like that if you look around, most are not exactly sign posted and very, very hard to find. Durham where I live is pretty religious and the history goes back a long time, one thing aboujt religion is they do make some intresting things for us in the future to see :D

Bisc, you've inspired me. I took some photos of my 2 kids today at the Sarah P. Duke gardens. We had a picnic and nice stroll among the flowering trees.

Thanks guys and that's a stunner of a photo 68m. Looks like Alice(s) in Wonderland. Ah spring is so nice. :D

Romero, I have a road atlas which has archeological sites, castles, ruins etc marked on it. I just spotted three, which were relatively close to each other. So I gathered the troops, charged up my camera and away I went. It's quite fun - might try and find more. Aberdeenshire has a wealth of places to visit.

That tunnel was scary. My mate came inside but I freaked her out after putting the torch to my face.

I'm quite keen on photography but I'm playing by ear... I've limited knowledge on technique.

Image

Also I was piddling around on photoshop. Just realised that you can make a b&w image and make one particular area colour. I'm no expert but the result is quite smart. Need a lot of practise though.

Bisc Works for me :) try making all them green may work even better. Just point and click to take photos I say, you dont need that much teqhnique to get great photos, as long as you take plenty your bound to get some wonderful pics :) I take so many its filling my hardrive and maybe 10% are worthwhile.

I try to find places in my local area, but want nice weather ussually or sunset or sunrise nothing worse than going somewhere wonderful to have all your photos look a bit drab as its cloudy or rainy :( I am waiting for summer myself, cannot wait. May need a book with nice places in it.

Mrs the68monkey that looks amazing, like another world. I cannot say I see anything like that around ours. Looks like Japan.

May as well pop in a photo, no other worldy places like the shots above, just a tree on a hill at dusk.

The photo is taken in the Asiatic Arboretum section of Duke Gardens, so yes, most of the plants here are native to China and Japan, and the design is meant to be Asian-influenced. It is beautiful, isn't it? Nothing else quite like it around here, either. :)
