Locke becoming a cold killer seemed out of character, especially after his big emo whinefest concerning his dad a few episodes beforehand.

He's very attached to island and finding his purpose for being there, but he didn't have to shoot the poor woman. I don't see why shedding himself off his all emotional baggage after Tom Sawyer slaying would've affected his empathy. But then again he did let Jack pass at the very last second after threatening him with death if he didn't back down.

First of all, he didn't shoot her, he threw a knife into her back. :D Second of all, we don't even know if she is dead. I have a feeling that she's still alive and will be there in season 4.
But even if Locke intended to kill her, I don't think it was out of place. He was about to commit suicide and the only thing that stopped him was that he had "work to do" and it seems that not making that call would have stopped them from an upcoming catastrophe.

I had forgotten about all that vision dreams about Eko nonsense from earlier in the season, but come on he hadn't "communicated" with the island for some time, only with Jacob the invisible Scooby Doo ghost pirate who wanted help. Got then again we don't know what happened inbetween him killing the woman and Ben leaving him to die at the Dharma mass grave.

Well, we know that Walt appeared and stopped him from committing suicide.

Although it's very likely that it wasn't actually Walt.

I stopped doubting that since we got to know that Jack's father is actually alive.

His father isn't alive; Jack was drunk/doped to the gills and was just confused when he was talking to the new Chief of Surgery in the flashforward. (Jack wanted him to bring his father down to where they were to see which of the two was more wasted). He's 'become' his father in this bearded future.
Walt was a vision that appeared to Locke, just as he appeared to Shannon.

That's a right conspiracy theory . I think it's more plausible that he meant that he's sick of lying to himself and to Kate (and whoever else survived) that the leaving the Island was a good idea.

Eva, you know that "The Looking Glass" consists of two episodes, do you? We clearly see Walt appear.

@Sho
Well, maybe he even means that he is sick of lying about some of their friends being left behind on the island.

Walt could even have been the smoke monster since it appears to be able to shapeshift.

I pre-ordered Season 2 from CD Wow, and it came a week or two before it was actually due to be on sale in America! I'm hoping it's going to be released on Blu-ray, though, so may hold out.

Due to the writers' strike, Lost may only be an 8-episode season next year. The producers really don't want that to happen, and would rather have the whole season held back until 2009 if need be, but ABC are currently planning on showing the 8 episodes that they have. Episode 8 ends on a big cliffhanger, which isn't meant to leave us hanging for a year.

I hope the writers' strike ends in time for the season to be made how it was supposed to be :(

I thought that 14 of the 16 lost episodes were already written? They were saying that Lost was gonna be the one show that wouldn't be affected badly by the writer's strike? :?:

I could've give a damn about Heroes and Lost, they're hardly top tier television. Tim Kring refuses to write a premature conclusion to Heroes S2.

I support the writers, they should get royalties for when their shows get broadcast on the internet.

I can't understand how people don't think Lost is 'top tier television'. I can't think of a better programme ever made.

24, Prison Break & The OC (seasons 1 & 2) all come higher than Lost in my opinion.

I do like Lost now though, through season 3 it picked up the pace. Let's hope with the next 2 seasons it will keep up with that pace, because otherwise it'll become a dull mess again like most of season 2 & the first half of season 3.

@ Eva: Is Lost Season 1 in a normal box set in Australia or a single amaray? Like they did for 24. I was well pleased to find my 24 R4 doesn't take up stacks of space. It's one of the reasons I'm put off my box sets, they take way too much space up IMO.

I've been thinking I should check out Lost. The cheapest I can find Season 1 is £18.49 at CD WOW UK (it's actually more through the USD links) or £16.70 at Amazon Market place. It's the usual rip off box set prices everywhere else.

I've still not watched my 24 S1 box set :D . It's a matter of finding the time to watch it all.
