News:
First french review of the HK edition of Seven Swords is available here:
http://www.dvdrama.com/rw_fiche-5611-0-seven-swords.php
For those who don't speak french:
- Picture quality is astounding.
- Sound quality is good except for a weird mixing of the dialogue track (but no DTS).
- Extras are crappy but subtitled in english.

I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Sin City and Sky Captain are very good. The rest are pretty abysmal. I saw Immortel and wondered if it was quite a clever film. I don't think it is, therefore yeah - it also sucks.EvaUnit02 wrote:Isn't Natural City supposed to be shit? Hell, isn't entire wave of recent CGI backdrop films supposed to be utterly naff (Except Sin City - which rocks)? Natural City, Sky Captain, Immortel, Casshern....
There's a new digital backlot film to look out for, which I quite enjoyed (well it's around 90% digital backlot). Mirrormask.

RRAAAHHHHRGGGHHHHHH !!!!
*Chokes on a doughnut while reading french dvd news *
Wild Side has recently announced the release of Drunken Master 2 (YES YES YES !) in a Lau Kar-Leung boxset for June or July 2006.
Of course we can expect a newly restored 2:35 anamorphic print and the original cantonese mono track.
*Dances like a madman*

Haven't seen Gingko Bed but I've heard it was close to Blood Rain (Korea 2005).
Which doesn't mean much if you haven't seen it I guess.
Legend of Gingko is a Swordplay / Ghost Film in the same vein as Legend of the Evil Lake or Bride with White Hair.

I didn't say "buy it". I'm just giving a list of all major releases.Brad wrote:Phew and Phew

You're probably right. An overdose of gloating might be hazardous for my health.it's nice not to let you gloat occasionally
Now I wish I wasn't born in the land of HK Vidéo, TF1, and Wild Side Vidéo.
NOT !
*Gloats*

It's more like 1.75:1. If memory serves me correctly it's definitely not 1.66:1. You get used to the cropping.
I've only seen DM2 twice (Disney R1 then Thakaral) and that was enough. Dull + Overrated film.
Sorry for the confusion though as the WB DVD is also a HK DVD.
