Sorry, my mistake. I misread your question. Not 10%, 10.
I thought so. The number is then about the same as mine for 5/5.

In the lack of better things to do I calculated all the ratings I’ve given this year (January-September) and percentages for each rating.

5/5 given 1 time (0,4%)
4,5/5 given 9 times (3,8%)
4/5 given 46 times (19,2%)
3,5/5 given 33 times (13,8%)
3/5 given 50 times (20,9%)
2,5/5 given 40 times (16,7%)
2/5 given 22 times (9,2%)
1,5/5 given 12 times (5,0%)
1/5 given 26 times (10,9%)

Also, I might give examples of films, too

5
Taifu Club, Hana-Bi, April Story, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Killer (taiwan cut)

4,5
Realims no yado, Le Samourai, Jailhouse 41, Peking Opera Blues, Blade Runner

4
My Neighbor Totoro, Yokai Daisenso (2005), Genshi monogatari, Tokyo Sonata, Born American

3,5
Mizu no hana, Three Colours: Blue, Dust Devil, Ebola Syndrome, Climates

3
Broken Oath, Into the Sun, Tokyo gomi onna, Death Note, History of Postwar Japan as Told by a Bar Hostess

2,5
[Rec], The Youth Killer, Love/Juice, This World of Ours, Which is Stronger, Karate or the Tiger

2
The Heroic Ones, Law of Desire, A Blue Automobile, Spiderman 2, Fried Dragon Fish

1,5
I’m a Cyborg but that’s Okay, Sideways, Eros, Seoul Raiders, A Woman Called Abe Sada

1
Garden State, Nausicaä, Dante 01, Secret Sunshine, Banlieue 13

yeah, that was a very silly way to kill time

I liked Sideways despite the tragic nature of the main characters :)

Three Colours Blue is a 5/5 for me ;)

Was 'I’m a Cyborg' really that bad? Haven't seen yet.

More old Miyazaki hitting the Finnish cinema screens. While I consider My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service delightful pieces of cinema, this Miyazaki doesn’t convince, appart from the opening scene. The dialogue is miserable, mostly repeating things that have already been already seen on screen and understood by the audience, and the preachy storyline doesn’t reach its end in acceptable time. Not even Joe Hisaishi's score manage to stand out.

Well, maybe a 4.5/5 at least but its a classic and very funny :)
Heroic Ones was 3.5/5 from me possibly as it was the 1st Shaw film I saw.
Once Upon A Time In China is a 5/5, Terminators 1 and 2, Fight Club (I think), Memento..
Abre Los Ojos = 4.5/5

All the LOTR's (well the EE's) are a 5/5, a classic Disney such as Pinocchio is a 5/5 :)
Pedicab Driver was 4.25/5, great fights but silly juxtaposition (at times) with sad scenes and silly comedic scenes.

For me, Pedicab Driver was ruined by a typical HK 'lets have every single famous person in the business' guest star driven cast, and total over-the-top melodrama. If it wasn't so cheasy, it could've been as good as Miracles.

None of the LOTR's warrant a 5, unless its a 5/6 :D

Miracles was very good, really enjoyed it :)
The Myth was a 3.5/5 from me (a good fun film) I think but I really enjoyed it :D I think I went in with low expectations there.
I may have given Vixen! (Russ Meyer) 1/5. utter crap. It was very boring despite curvy Erica Gavin and co.

I think Flash Point was 3/5 and Sin City (it looks amazing but is vapid and is "style over substance") was 2/5.

Well IIRC he gave 3/5 to the Death Note movies in the same post as his Nausicaa review! :P

I usually tend to fall into the trap of being too generous in the marking of films that I find merely good. Later on I'll revisit a review and think "7/10 was too high you idiot!"

And if they added an extra hour of unnecessary "comic high-jinks" then it would be as appallingly paced as Miracles too!

I'm a big Jackie Chan fan, have been for nearly 20years now, but I think Miracles is massively over-rated. I don't dislike the film, I just find it self indulgent and ergo badly paced.

I just felt Miracles was boring, and could have been so much better.
Also, I didnt care about the characters or the story etc.

I really like Miracles. It's very charming. I usually dislike HK comedy - Stephen Chow films just give me a headache - but Jackie's penchant for physical comedy and heart makes all the difference
