...and that non-English mono track had highly likely been downmixed from the 5.1 track. We've been over this, it's been established that you're both deaf and blind (i.e. ABT1 IVL missing frames issue).

Okay but it will be later this week now. It takes flipping ages to do captures (for me anyway).

Any ideas of the time codes? I know they're at the start but even so.

Would be no point in providing them, due to PAL speed-up of your R2.

UK R2 UE added.

If anything I'd say the UE looks the worst but in reality I suspect it's more a case of different software etc... being used. In these captures it looks the least sharp but I know in the case of the UK R2 SE at least this isn't really correct.

This is where captures only show so much and should never be used as gospel.

In a real-world test I checked the UK R2 UE vs UK R2 SE just before I sold the SE and they're equal if I'm being picky I'd say the UE is a minute about sharper.

Shame the UK versions have the blue look washed out for the first shot but otherwise I'd call it a draw.

I'd say the R2 UE looks the softest.

They've obviously just used the same print as the R2 SE. Otherwise the colour in the first cap would've been corrected.

In reality it's not.

Like I said if anything it's slightly sharper than the UK R2 SE. Remember captures aren't ever 100% accurate, especially when different software is used.

Yep. It looks nigh on identical on a TV screen, maybe slightly sharper (but maybe not).

Of course but seriously even if the UE is less sharp than the R1/R3 I've compared it to the UK R2 SE on exactly the same setup and no way is it less sharp.

1. It's either a minute bit sharper
2. Or if I'm seeing something that isn't there it's the same

Capture comparisons IMO are only really useful when two DVDs differ wildly either from a non-remastered to remastered state or some kind of annoying correction has been done.

When transfers are so similar captures can't often capture this and should only be taken as a guide.
