Search engine, my son, search engine.

I knew we had almost as many Bond topic as we have Terminator 2 topics (quite sad really), so I just picked the most appropriate one.

I'm really surprised you rating the Craig Bonds above the Dalton ones Mark. I'd have said it would be the other way round for sure.

Interesting to see how our lists vary so wildly.

Can't speak for Mark, but although I LOVE Dalton as Bond, the movies themselfs weren't all that interesting to me.

Would have been great if Dalton would have agreed to do 'On her Majesty's Secret Service', instead of Lazenby. I'm convinced that would have meant a completely different kind of respect for Dalton's performance as Bond.

Agreed. I like License to Kill but the story is a bit weak.

It would've been very interesting indeed.

Same goes for Living Daylights: first half is pretty damn good, but the mediocre second half, plus some bad casting, kinda 'ruins' the movie a bit. It's a nice Bond flick, but Dalton' talents deserve much much better.

Yeah. Such a shame :( Up till this day I've never even watched OHMSS, simply because the few times I tried I couldn't stand Lazenby in the role.

I cannot see it now. OHMSS is part of the official Bond cannon. It's worth watching Yi, sure Lazenby has a serious charisma problem but in many other ways it's very good indeed.

The rubbish villain in Living Daylights kill it for me. He doesn't have to be larger than life but not bland.

I wouldn't describe Jeroen Krabbe or Joe Don Baker as bland.

At that stage the producers were going for more realistic villains.

I would but more to the point the ending is just so poor, compared to what came before. A small shoot out and it's over.

The big climax had already occured with the plane and the horses and the exploding bridge(!)

That's not a finale but action "near the end".

The grand finale doesn't always HAVE to be the last thing you see in a movie.

It can mean final big action sequence - which the horses/plane/bridge scene is for The Living Daylights.

The confrontation at the General's home is tying up a loose end. It's not supposed to be a finale.

It's like in Casino Royale where the finale is in Venice. The bit where Bond tracks Mr. White down is a coda.
