I know the R1 is cheaper thats what I said :D All I am wondering was why the UK set is 7 discs not 8? I'm betting its just spread out more.

Yup they just wanted to pad out the sets it seems :) to make them equal, so 4 dvds per half set :) instead of 3 then 4.

That's common PAL takes more space up. All the Dawson's Creek box sets are more on R2 than R1 (5-6 compared with 4-5).

Considering the amount of TV shows you buy Romero I thought you'd know that :D

It's not been released yet. The R1 has been out since September (I think) so ergo it will be more expensive.

True but that wouldn't be any fun  . Especially when you said you "won't be wrong".

Besides who does that?

romero's got an answer for everything. He could talk the dead back to life (Chinese saying). ;)

Honesty the amount of TV shows I own, thats rarley the way it ever happens. The reason for the extra dvd wont be for Pal, your fogetting Pal is shorter but more lines, and NTSC is less lines but longer and in the end they work out practically the same space.

I cannot think of any (if ever) TV dvds that I own where the UK set gets more dvds, Dawson is a irregular thing, no idea why they did it with that show at all.
The usual reasons are more extras and more sound options for dvd increases of TV shows :) or the fact the show looked like crap in another region so they gave them more space in another region :)

Its ussually down a crafty way to make the set look bigger than it is when they do that, such as sticking one or 2 of the dvds on single layered dvds for instance and adding an extra dvd to the set, which is a joke as we know they could fit both dvds on 1 duel layered dvd which I found out on a recent set I bought!

I've thought of a good reason: Dubs

In North America they usually just get French and/or Spanish but on UK R2 it could be a whole mixture of dub languages. As you say Romero it's also so as to make it look worth the extra price.

Cool and LOL you're right. I especially love it when his answer is so flimsy it's ridiculous :D

It's actually kinda stupid as French is one of the biggest international languages in the world. It would make more sense to give the UK R2 a French dub than say a Hungarian dub, which Universal are fond of including.

The thing is France get theri own seperate release, so why they want a UK set is always beyond me.
