The Marine 2/5

Actioner starring WWE Wrestler John Cena runs through just about every action movie cliche in the book but at just 80-odd minutes passes the time ok.

Ils felt contrived to me, the way that the stalker could never be seen and just seemed to be able to appear in any place, and then before you know it the film is finished, incredibly short and hardly anything happened.

The Page Turner was a surprisingly effective thriller which kept me guessing, it seemed pretty unpredictable and the performances were great, I liked its subdued style too. By the end, it kind of left me wanting more, but that's pretty much because I enjoyed it throughout.

Blade BD 4/5

Definitely one of the better comic book adaptions, this fast moving vampire flick is excellent entertainment though some of the cgi is looking ropey these days.like Perlman & Hellboy,Snipes was born to play Blade. The english-friendly Dutch BD has no extras but has an excellent transfer in the correct ratio.

Nice to hear you are happy with it :D I await the release of Blade 1 + 2 on BR with plenty of UUUMMFF! I want them now!

I will keep waiting and get the best ones when they are out, hopefully they get the treatment they deserve, amazing to think Blade is now 11 years old!!!!!!!!! scary. I still remember the week it came out, I sadly never saw it in the cinema, gutted! I do remember many reviews hated it back then.

Really hope they give it an amazing disc when it comes out in america :D it deserves it.

and Blade 3 is crap

Mind you the TV series of bloody good! blew me away, more violence and swearing than the films! and sex too haha but a very solid show, I was expecting poorness and got gold. Shame they canned it :(

Blade 3 is worth watching put it that way, but a lot of it makes me cringe. Still some parts are great, if only someone could edit out the bad and leave the good (which will be about 50% hacked out). To me it just is no Blade film, it is something else :D

The R rated version is barley different anyway, so thats no loos, in fact the extended cut makes the film worse, esspecially the ending!

All David S. Goyer-directed films seem to have a mediocre score on IMDb.

Well he can be a dick

but then so can Snipes, you only have to look at Blade 3 to see that he gutted the film :D what a cock  he cost the film so much cash being a loon, and pretty much all involved now dislike Wes and gladly say so. I love it when they speak their minds about Wes even now years later, I heard Ryan Reynolds lash out and call him a nasty name the other day  ahhh the love, feel it.

Mind you the next Blade film is going ahead :D Steven Norington is back!!!!!(after his retirement haha) as is Deacon from part 1, the films about him, not Blade! cannnot wait to see what they do, or how the hell they do it

Really? Hadn't heard about a Blade 4, but the first one's the only one I like so there may be potential if the original director's back then.

I didn't know about this. Where did you get yours? I'd like to wait for the full SE version of Seven but am happy to not get extras for Blade 2.

I've seen far worse action films but it's equally very average and lame. It feels like a 15 instead of 18 of the others + the villain is an utter joke.

It is set in the Blade world and is likley to be called Deacon and be about him, so no Snipes :D Stephen Dorff seems rather happy about the project.

Still until I see pictures from the set I wont be happy it is real

I saw the first BLADE at the cinema, but never felt compelled to bother with the sequels. There's something about Wesley Snipes I don't particularly care for. He's an OK actor, but I never really like him as a performer.

I would say Blade 1 and 2 are the Only great Snipes film, the rest of his films on the whole suck. Blade he just feels right in for some reason.

I would give part 2 a go, as hell its so mental and action packed it is pretty epic compared to part 1.

They are such vastly different films I think of them along the lines of the Alien films. All similar, but sooo different. Blade 2 is a full on horror action film.

Thanks Salty. They also have 21 Grams Canadian (barebones but the DVD only ever had a 20 minute making of) for the same price too.

You've not seen Blade 2 Mark? It's excellent.
