Re: The Blu-Ray movies under £7 thread
The Happening is completely deranged, the kind of film that can only be made by a filmmaker and leading star who clearly no longer have any idea how human beings actually think and behave. Because of that it's frequently hilarious - if you're the kind of person who likes to have a good laugh at a really cringeworthy film! It's technically much worse than Lady in the Water, but definitely much easier to sit through.bradavon wrote:Lady in the Water - Dear god what an utter mess. What on earth was he thinking? The premise was fine but the handling atrocious.
The Last Airbender looks rubbish too. I'll probably give The Happening ago. It got really poor reviews, so I never bothered.

OMG! Is that possible?Shingster wrote:It's technically much worse than Lady in the Water, but definitely much easier to sit through.
Lady in the Water started off fine and like I said the premise is fine (given that it's fantasy) but it gets more stupid by the second. The stereotypical Korean women really got on my nerves too.

Fair enough on the Sesame Street, but if you don't get teary-eyed at the ending of Toy Story 3 you must have a heart of stone! Me and my mate both did, and everyone I speak to is like 'oh yeah everyone keeps saying they cried at the ending'.saltysam wrote:Says the young adult who collects Sesame Street dvds and cries at the climax to Toy Story 3![]()

I could've sworn you hated it too. I went in with an open mind (more than most probably) and liked the first half but it god stupid and stupid. The script was atrocious.romerojpg wrote:Nowt wrong with Lady in the Watercracking film.
I was really surprised, even Signs is watchable.

On Kermode's show they were talking about the theme of TS3 - kids growing up, leaving toys, and by extension their parents, behind, and it gave me a lump in my throat.gasteropod wrote:Fair enough on the Sesame Street, but if you don't get teary-eyed at the ending of Toy Story 3 you must have a heart of stone! Re: The Blu-Ray movies under £7 thread
FYI Dances with Wolves is the Theatrical Cut. I had it on pre-order but cancelled my order. The (expensive) German Blu-ray is the Extended Cut (with English subs for the Native American) though. Thank btw.
Double Life of Veronique Blu-Ray: (£6.95): http://www.blahdvd.com/DVD/Double-Life- ... roduct.htm
It's that price at a few other sites (Play.com/Amazon.co.uk). For those who know who offers the best cash back discount.
