Re: The General DVD/HD Disc Bargains Thread!
I liked the first half of Predator with the suspenseful build up and one-by-one elimination of the commandos... but once it became man vs beast I started to lose interest. If they tightened up the protracted finale it would be a more effective film. Not saying I won't check it out again sometime though. But am not desperate to own a bare bones BD of it.

I like both Predators and have both blu-ray's. Predator is definitely an improvement on the dvd, once you recover from probably the grainiest opening credits i've seen on blu-ray

Really? You said when you first got it, it wasn't much of an upgrade or where you basing that on the original silly price?

I Posted that in March 2008 Brad.it's not great but definitely better than the dvd.i'm sure there's a far superior version to come some day but at the moment this is the best we've got.saltysam wrote:Predator is comfortably superior to the dvd but isn't as good as it should be imo. the opening scenes are the worst i've seen on blu-ray but i think that's inherent of the original film stock.things improve dramatically when they arrive in the jungle.

DDDHouse are having a blu-ray sale.it's laughable to call it a sale given the still high prices but Accidental Spy for example at £13ish delivered is the cheapest it's been.

Thanks Salty. Rambo UK BD is Region B for those who need to know, oddly the USA one isn't.
The Black Hawk Down BD is excellent with the 3 commentaries and 2Hrs (or similar) making of, oddly called a "featurette" on the rear cover. Sadly the excellent History Channel documentary is missing. I've kept my 4 Disc Korean SB Deluxe too.

Correct. It incorrectly says it's Region Free:

Thanks for the link Hung, I know Amazon.com are doing the same titles at the same price but B&N is actually a little cheaper on shipping for more than 2 titles and their standard shipping option is Airmail, which I think will be faster than Amazon's. I also have a feeling you've got a better chance with customs as well. I've slapped 6 titles on my Xms list

Thanks Hung. When does the code expire?
$8 isn't 50% of 70$. Have I missed something? Probably.
