You have been known to miss such subtle aspects of films
romerojpg wrote:Its a film set in a shopping mall, there is no satire (the director said so many times).
Even I spotted it, it's not exactly subtle.
romerojpg wrote:and Brad bland is not something you can call any film before you see it, average also for you can say that about any film to be honest, esspecially going by a trailer. Its far from bland and very far from average (for me and many others anyway).
Are you drunk?
I've seen Dawn 78 , and have never seen a Dawn trailer.
Shingster wrote:Take away the satire and you still have a pretty effective character thriller. It's the satire and the characterisation that makes Dawn clever.
Agreed.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - 2/5
I hadn't seen this in years, I remember why now. Morgan Freeman..... no comment needed.
Black Snake Moan - 1/5
I started watching this once, got bored and gave up. This time I saw the whole thing and wonder why, there's nothing to it except Ricci being nubile. Don't get me wrong that is very nice indeed but the film is shit.
The Ladykillers - 3/5
Why didn't they just copy the original more? It could have been a lot better had they done so.
Ronin - 3.5/5
I <3 Jean Reno, I don't think the film is all that aside from the action sequences, but then it's all about the action sequences and they're brilliant. Hearing it in DTS-HD was fantastic, the audio is excellent in this film.
Patriot Games - 3/5
Sean Bean is such a poor actor. Film is average like all the other Jack Ryan films.
Clear and Present Danger - 3/5
See above.
Asterix and the Vikings - 2/5
Perhaps kids like it but I thought it was a bit poo, the BD was okay but the animation itself was rather lacking.
The City of Lost Children - 2/5
Just not my thing but I did like it more than Delicatessen.
By all means, Brad, watch the DAWN remake. It's not shite, but it's LESS good than the original... so don't get your hopes up. The acting in NIGHT isn't so bad considering the extreme low budget nature of the production. Best judge for yourself...
In some ways I think Eastwood was influenced by Sergio Leone in this film, his character "The Stranger" is The Man With No Name but darker and more of a badass - there's no dialogue at the beginning of the film, and the music...
He also plays the townspeople off each other (like in Yojimbo/Fistful of Dollars).
Good film, (especially considering it was Eastwood's 2nd as director) but I prefer the Leone films
i'd heard good things about this new british horror but was left mildly disappointed. two inept kidnappers abduct mouthy scouse bitch Jennifer Ellison and hide out in an abandoned cottage ,then the fun starts.this is ok but the comedy is not particularly funny,a couple of the characters get really annoying and there's basically nothing new here.i thought Ellison was quite entertaining as the foul mouthed big-breasted kidnap victim.
Bad Lieutenant (USA, 1992) – 3/5
Mostly impressive, and a good performance by Keitel, but watching him do to the same thing for 96 min is bit too long.
Year of the Dragon (USA, 1985) – 2,5/5
Good performance by Rouke, but the story and directing aren’t as strong as they should be.

I'm surprised you didn't like this much. It's been years since I've seen it. I thought it was excellent.
I own the NC-17 R1. I remember "The Driller Killer" being good too. I'm not sure I'd like it today though.
The Driller Killer good? my god you must have saw one hell of a different film to me and many others, easily one of the worst films I have seen in my life I dont ussually say anything is worthless, but Driller Killer is.
TEXAS is hampered by poor acting until the last half hour when all hell breaks loose - and that's what makes the film so memorable. The chainsaw chase had me on the edge of my seat.
DRILLER on the other hand is just utter crap in every possible way. If I had to choose the worst film I've ever seen: this would be it.
