why did they put the 2 movies on 1 disc (ong bak)and the extra's on the other? Lot of people complaining about that...

I don't see why they should complain? The picture quality on the Thai cut is fine...

Because they had 3 hours of extras and it's common practise/what people expect to have the extras on disc 2.

It would've made more sense to spread them across discs 1 and 2, therefore allowing each film it's own disc but considering the extras length it probably wouldn't have had a huge impact.

Its far from as good as it could have been thats for sure, the blocking and smearing and general bland looking transfer isnt exactly great. The sound is total skanky shit. But hey thats there mastering problems, not the space the film takes up on a singel side of a dvd, so its madmans fault 100% as the film could easily look stunning if they actually tried to do good things with the transfer.

It looks like they compresed it with dvdshrink at times the blocking so bad in the darker scenes.

I wonder how the Thai DVD fairs? I don't remember anyone complaining but then again all I remember reading was lots of gushing and "you don't need subs".

That's not good considering DVD Shrink master costs us 30p.

Holy crap, the 2 versions on the R4 dvd are very different looking and sounding, the french cut is far supiror, picture and sound wise, the picture is far clearer and looks a much better transfer

shame its cut, but still its better for watching.

Funny post to be commenting on this but:

Interesting as going by those captures that Tom posted the French cut is edge enhancement heaven.

Maybe it's not noticeable in a real world test. Still I'd probably only be sampling it anyway

I'm happy with the DC but would like to see the PAC, that said I don't think any cut could actually make the film anything more than average (a complete recut might).

It's a shame that Enterprise is crap otherwise that would be a bargain but admittedly the third season was by far the best season, it's just a shame they pissed away all that good work in S4.

I've never heard of it but it's got a decent write up and is directed by: Jean Renoir. For a Criterion that's a fantastic price (it's the only version out there too).

I bought the original NAKED GUN last week in the HMV sale for £3.99.

Didn't see the sequels at all.
