I've never heard of it too. It looks to be a Vietnamese Action flick set during the French colonial times: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0782154/
The lead is one of the main bad guys from Tom Yum Goong. I cannot find any proper trailers but there is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=534Csl0FIoU
WOW! It looks really good. Thai action films watch out!
The HK Flix link says it's coming on the 30th of September: http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmID.546 ... etails.htm
p.s - Tai Chi Master Spec. at Dragaon Dynasty: http://www.dragondynasty.com/films/show/108

Looks like DD will do Supercop after all.
Thanks to UltimateHero @ KFCCinema.
Read the full blog here.I tell Stanley that we’re going to be reissuing Supercop on Dragon Dynasty, and he agrees to do an interview covering his memories of the film, and to take part in a commentary with me, time allowing.
Thanks to UltimateHero @ KFCCinema.

Fan-bloody-tastic. This is easily Jackie's best film and an easy purchase for me. So far I've had to make do with a DVD9 copy from the Fortune Star box set.
I hope they call it Police Story 3, given that they've already released the first two parts. Maybe Police Story 3: Supercop.
Cheers Lee.

Any idea which company?Wong Kar-wai’s re-mix of his martial art house film Ashes of Time is screening. At an early stage, we did endeavor to acquire the rights, but it eventually went to another company.

I never really liked PS3. Probably has to do with the fact that I've only seen the dubbed version on VHS, but it just felt boring, lacking any good fights apart from the short fight in the gym-trainingground.
Maybe I feel different when seeing the flick again. But I doubt it, as I dont really seem to dig Stanley Tong movies.
I really hope that they wont fuck up Ashes of Time with that 'remix' crap. I LOVED the movie the way it was. I sure hope they keep the soundtrack intact, as it was just an incredible experience...

Agreed. PS3 is among Jackie's best 15 movies.bradavon wrote:Fan-bloody-tastic.
Yes, it's Sony. They have a website for the film somewhereDangerousLeeHandsome wrote:I beleive Sony Pictures Classics is releasing AOT in the States.Any idea which company?Wong Kar-wai’s re-mix of his martial art house film Ashes of Time is screening. They did fuck up, it seems. And the soundtrack has been changed, more or less.Yi-Long wrote: I really hope that they wont fuck up Ashes of Time with that 'remix' crap. I LOVED the movie the way it was. I sure hope they keep the soundtrack intact, as it was just an incredible experience...

Well... Fist of Legend has been on schedules before, and TBH I'll believe it's out once it's in my dvd-player...EvaUnit02 wrote:So Yi-Long, Tai Chi Master is out soon and Fist of Legend is firmly on the release schedule. Are you happy now, or are you going to bitch about how they kept delaying the releases?
Tai Chi Master is a nice little movie, but for me it isnt a classic (it starts out GREAT, but soon goes down in quality and the end fight is just mehhh...)
Let's wait and see what and when they will actually release, and then we'll see if I have any more bitching to.
I still find it incredible that it did take this long to release this brilliant movie properly.

It does definitely have more of a Western feel. I'm guessing you liked that less?Yi-Long wrote:Probably has to do with the fact that I've only seen the dubbed version on VHS, but it just felt boring, lacking any good fights apart from the short fight in the gym-trainingground.
So when did you get back? Any decent photos?
DD don't own the rights but you'll hate to hear it but WKW himself has made changes, too the audio too. Hung has posted an ongoing discussion. Have a read.Yi-Long wrote:I really hope that they wont fuck up Ashes of Time with that 'remix' crap. I LOVED the movie the way it was. Be thankful it's coming, the rest is history. It's not worth brooding over.Yi-Long wrote:I still find it incredible that it did take this long to release this brilliant movie properly.
Tai Chi Master is good up until Jet goes all weird. Sure it's part of the ethos of the story boy it was rubbish to watch.
Cheers and Lee too. At leas the AV should be decent, if nothing else.HungFist wrote:Yes, it's Sony. They have a website for the film somewhere

Exactly.bradavon wrote:No neverEvaUnit02 wrote:So Yi-Long, Tai Chi Master is out soon and Fist of Legend is firmly on the release schedule. Are you happy now, or are you going to bitch about how they kept delaying the releases?.
Not sure. I love good western movies as much as I love good eastern movies. In PS3 I just didnt care for Jackie, the story, and the action wasnt as good as we were used to from Jackie. No interesting fights, no interesting villains, etc etc. Just a bit of an uninteresting random actionflick that could just as well have starred Michael Dudikoff...It does definitely have more of a Western feel. I'm guessing you liked that less?Yi-Long wrote:Probably has to do with the fact that I've only seen the dubbed version on VHS, but it just felt boring, lacking any good fights apart from the short fight in the gym-trainingground.
I got back last wednesday morning in Germany, and it took us about 12 hours from Frankfurt to Eindhoven, simply because we had a shitload of luggage to carry and had to use public transportation. Let's just say I seriously dislike Europe even more now than I already did.So when did you get back? Any decent photos?
Not sure if the pics are ok. A friend in HK burned them for me on dvd as I had borrowed his 1 GB card, but I think the disc is still at my girl's house (forgot my bag there, possible get it back tomorrow)
Hopefully the disc is in good quality after the long travel and I hope there are some nice pics to show...
That's a shame. I wonder if it was his own idea to tamper with it, or that he was talked into it by morons like Bey Logan who think some stuff needs to be dumbed down for different territories....DD don't own the rights but you'll hate to hear it but WKW himself has made changes, too the audio too. If it's uncut, subbed, has the original soundtrack and soundeffects, etc... I'll be fine with it. As I've said many times before.Yi-Long wrote:Well... Fist of Legend has been on schedules before, and TBH I'll believe it's out once it's in my dvd-player...I have a feeling this time you'll actually get your wish. Now whether you'll be happy with it I don't dare say
.
Which is part of the reason why I cant believe it has taken so long to get a decent release out.
But but but....I like brooding! I like sitting in the dark fantasizing about using Harvey Weinstein as a dartboard while crushing small cute pet hamsters to death in my icecold hand!Be thankful it's coming, the rest is history. It's not worth brooding over.Yi-Long wrote:I still find it incredible that it did take this long to release this brilliant movie properly.
Yeah, and just the whole demise into darkness by chin sui ho, and jet li going nuts etc, and the action getting worse instead of improving...Tai Chi Master is good up until Jet goes all weird. Sure it's part of the ethos of the story boy it was rubbish to watch.
It's a shame.
I like the movie, but I do really feel it could have been better...

Exactly. It's a HK Jackie Chan film with a more Western style of action. Personally I loved it or that but most don't seem to.Yi-Long wrote:In PS3 I just didnt care for Jackie, the story, and the action wasnt as good as we were used to from Jackie. OMG 12 hours. Isn't it only about 3-4 hours away? Not that I know where in Germany. I didn't know you lived in Eindhoven. I've been there. It's a pretty uneventful city but I was visiting friends.Yi-Long wrote:I got back last wednesday morning in Germany, and it took us about 12 hours from Frankfurt to Eindhoven
Hopefully. Did you have a nice time? Any highlights? You should start a thread or continue in this one:Yi-Long wrote:Hopefully the disc is in good quality after the long travel and I hope there are some nice pics to show...

We've already said DD don't own the rights, you're barking up the completely wrong treeYi-Long wrote:That's a shame. I wonder if it was his own idea to tamper with it, or that he was talked into it by morons like Bey Logan who think some stuff needs to be dumbed down for different territories....
p.s - AFAIK Bey Logan has never requested any film be dumbed down. I don't even think Bey Logan is involved with creating the actual DVD, just acquiring the rights in the first place.
