i preferred all three of those to this one tbh.Markgway wrote:I'm really looking forward to this one... How does it compare to Shane Black's films as writer?saltysam wrote:kiss kiss, bang bang-2.5/5
i'd heard glowing reviews for this one but i thought it was average at best, worth a rent but no more. btw the dvd has absolutely no extra features whatsoever so fans of the movie might want to wait for the inevitable SE.
Lethal Weapon
The Last Boy Scout
The Long Kiss Goodnight

hey,
Home Sweet Home 3.5/5
Not a high water mark akin to Love Battlefield this time for Soi Cheang but an affecting horror-drama nonetheless. Takes a little while to survive its weak setup but when Shu Qi and Karena Lam (virtually unrecognizeable under Mark Garbarino's excellent make-up) takes center stage, the themes and emotions reaches satisfying levels. By mixing it up nicely akin to his early movie Diamond Hill, Soi makes sure that he isn't being "the horror director" either. Not by now.

Salaam Bombay! 4.5/5.... maybe 5/5
Until now, I have usually seen Mira Nair illustrate India's beauty... now she reveals the country's ugliness. This gut-wrenchingly depressing film provides a voice for Bombay's street children. I really hope with India's economic boom, some of the rewards will be shared amongst the country's poorest. Pardon me for being skeptical but I somehow doubt it...

Yeah, I knew about that.thelostdragon wrote:All of these films are wonderful classics of HK cinema in my opinion.
Did you notice how they made fun of Jackie, Willie Chan and Papa Chan in "High Risk"?
